Don't give them ideas. If they think they can save money they will jump at the opportunity. They don't understand football. They did it against Reading two years ago in the cup just to save on stewarding. Closed the Canton and so we were attacking a bank of empty seats in the second half. Had all the atmosphere of watching Cardiff Blues at Cardiff City Stadium. Needless to say we lost and we were out of the cup. Don't know how much that could have cost the club long term.

Only numbers in the ground will help the atmosphere sadly. That new stand looms over us and destroys the atmosphere in my opinion, I warned everyone of this but a load of posters on here were desperate for it to help us move on.

It's a white elephant and now we are stuck with it.

Close the Canton.
Let us stand either side of the away fans put kids in the grandstand :ayatollah:

Personally I think they should close more parts of the ground to push our fans closer together to make a better atmosphere :ayatollah:

Don't give Wayne Nash any ideas. He'd happily have us all sitting outside in the car park.

Most of our crowd are out in the park after 80 minutes anyway.

True. :( I'm thinking of locking everyone in by winding Dai Hunt's massive scarfe around the stadium at half-time.

Agree They should do this

I used to watch the city in the old division 4 in the 80s, plenty of noise from a 3,000 crowd, it's not about the people who don't turn up, it's just our core support is very quite, I think we had a more loyal supporter base in the 80s than we have today.

If you'd said to me in the 1980s Huw I cannot see you missing a Saturday you'd have been spot on. However I've now got a family and moved away from home and quite simply a match day experience at the CCS is not worth my £200 quid round trip. TAN ENTICE ME COS YOU SURE AS HELL HAVE TRIED A COUPLE OF RANDOM CALLS TO GET ME BACK, IVE GIVEN SUGGESTIONS. WHICH YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WITH. FANS DONT MATTER VINCENT AND MEHMAT. CURRENTLY IM OUT COS I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY VERY SHORY WEEKEND. CAPS ON PURPOSE, TAKE NOTE TAN!!!!!!!

I thought we already had a stand closed?

We can afford to shut down may be 18k to 20k seats at present, next season may be 24k to 26k seats, we have to push the small amount of fans we still have closer together to try and get some kind of atmosphere :bluebird:

The way crowds are going we could close down 3 stands!

We need the club to show some ambition, play attractive attacking football and get some results then we may see a turn around with higher crowds and a better atmosphere. It's not rocket science but the club don't seem to want to go down that road.

I couldn't have put it better myself. The club clearly doesn't want success on the pitch. "New beginnings"? "Improve match day experiences" ???

My Arse! :angry4: :angry5: :angry7: :angry7: :angry7:

They already closed one. That massive red elephant above the Ninian stand.

Tbh I been at the new stadium when it's packed and the atmosphere is sometimes shit. I don't know what but something happened when we left Ninian.

When there's 20k in the stadium and it's a close game we create a really good atmosphere. It's only flat when we expect to win the game or we are losing. Nowadays we could score a 90th minute winner and it would be shite, not enough people in too much space.

The people to fill the CCS are out there,,,,that's been proved beyond all doubt. What the people want is something that they BELIEVE IN,,,and is entertaining, value for money, and more importantly, that they can take PROUD ownership of.

Unfortunately, Our club has long been de-based, and before long, will be made to feel completely worthless!

I agree, needs 20,000. People can say about the old days but different in a little ground and the passion in society back then has long gone. Think we have much bigger issues than this, a full canton is great atmosphere but it's sparse and we are lucky if we even get a shot on goal.

The thing is Rick it's almost impossible to create a good atmosphere when there's 12k of us in that huge stadium. I campaigned on here for years against the new stand being built and was shot down time and time again. It's killed the little atmosphere we had, that big looming red monster.

I agree, but its there to stay now, & it does come in handy when Wales play at the CCS.

I think even without the "new stand",,, in an 28.000 stadium, a 12.000 crowd would still struggle to make a decent atmosphere, if that crowd were spread out throughout the stadium. No wonder its easier for over two thousand away fans to make a bigger noise, & create a better atmosphere, when they are compacted together, up in one corner of the ground.

Yeah and most of them would be half asleep/ left by 90 mins. Let's be honest here the whole day out down the CCS 9/10 is boring.
