So with all the issues around the transfer policy at the club and grumbling from fans, the only area to recruit from would be free transfers until Jan - in the recent WOL video of a supporter confronting Trolls, the manager some what flippantly stated they needed an extra £10m. But realistically the money from sales out and wages saved surely could be put towards 2/3 players who are out of contract?

GK - Marco Amelia has been linked with the 3rd choice spot at Sunderland the ex Milan stopper surely has the credentials to be Cardiffs No1 and I can't see him commanding huge wages?

M - Pace has been a real issue, but there does seem to be pace about, Julian Hoilett still only 24 would be an excellent signing with much to prove, he has the pace and would bring balance to Harris on the opposite flank.

F - again guile and pace is lacking in the city forward line, Lambert can't do it on his own and in my opinion needs someone to feed off any knock downs there are a host of golden oldies out there but would probably demand silly wages, Berbatov, Zamora, Adebayor are all ambitious and costly - how about ex Liverpool forward Samed Yesil? Still 22 and played for some fair sized clubs already without a decent crack - could he be a cheap have a go option??

There are players out there that's my point that I think could be brought in well under budget!

If I was going to go Welsh - during the transfer window is look at Thompson (Swindon) Myhill, Roberts (both West Brom) Evans (Chesterfield)
