Some of our best seasons not so long ago were when we were in relegation battles!
We had no money and only few thousand fans turning up on a regular basis. There were some games where the keys were left on a hook, so the last man out could lock the gate!
But, the supporters who were there got behind the club regardless and Ninian Park was a pretty intimidating place when the important games came along...and that was important!
I don't see that nowadays. Blame the club, blame Tan, blame Malky, blame anyone bar ourselves, but all I see is a few fans trying and the rest slating or disappearing well before the final whistle if we aren't winning!
In many ways, our current crop of supporters don't know how far we've come since Sam entered the arena; albeit with a few serious hiccups and maybe the relative successes of the Sam and (then) Malky years actually ruined us by raising expectations far too much?
