Who knows but people still go on about DJ why hasn't he had a job since Dec 2013?

With out a doubt he would, & so would a lot of ex Championship managers. He would play a 442 for a start.

Probably still living off the 800k we had to pay to get rid of him

I doubt it very much. We haven't anything like the quality left in the squad.

Yes!

Lets not forget the fact that Dave Jones (courtesy of Peter Ridsdale) brought in Dave Jones to replace Lennie Lawrence,,,,what ever happened to him???

Because he's outdated and he became arrogant and in his last few years as a manager he left a lot of clubs on bad terms.

DJ was the right man at the right time for us then, but I admit that his arrogance eventually got the better of him.
The same question could be asked of Malky,,,would he do better,,,now with the current set up?
Im of the opinion that he would bring in a better organized & disciplined approach to the current players, so yes.

Davy Jones from The Monkees couldn't do much worse.
And he's dead.

sometimes people are fukwits for thinking that going back to old players, managers etc would do the job...
If we say lets (figure of speech) pick up Jones from 2012 and drop him here, maybe so. However the guy hasn't done fk all for years and people still expect him to do a job.....

The Club needed to advertise the job after the teacher went!
There are plenty of excellent managers out of work who could work in the Championship and above ( not with Tan though) personally I am not sure of how the club is operated these days, has me mystified in several areas eminating from the top etc.
I can only see numerous years of flirting with relegation until a new owner comes in and lights the fire again for the supporters until then it will continue as it is!!!

DJ always got our teams to have a go at home and give our strikers freedom like Chops to play on the last man where we look like in years gone by give our striker specific instructions to track back and play deeper.

Agree he has done his time as a manager and shouldn't be considered anymore.

I really felt for jones, he came to us at a time when he needed to rebuild his career so to speak. He was then given the task of signing free transfers and loans and still required to sell £5m worth of players each season. And he was brilliant at that. The big issue came when we would start losing a game, we would always seem to crumble. Now apart from Swansea no team outside the premier league really played the 451 system and therefore I don't think he felt he would have enough time to implement it if it stopped working. I really liked the guy. He gave us our best attacking football. And with our current situation of major cost cuttings he would be a gem finder

Yep. Done things on the cheap compared to them pair Tony. Yet we played better football under him going forward in my opinion.

On this rare occasion I can agree with you Rydogs.
If Jones had this squad back at his peak with us he would do a much better job than Trollope but to even think of going back to him now would be ludicrous.
