Dog walkers - non football related

Tue Sep 13, 2016 11:27 am

The other day my friends dog got attacked whilst he was on the lead and muzzled. Not that he shows aggression but he has been known to get abit amorous so it is as a precaution. A dog came running upto my friends dog and starting biting him on the abdomen and elsewhere, the owner was at first no where to be seen and after what must have felt like a few mins they saw the owner and had to call him over but he was in no rush to get his dog off. This must have been an awful shock for my friend and thier dog, thankfully the dog is ok after some vets visits but is shaken up, nervous and wounded. Most of my friends who have dogs and are aware that their own dog may pose a potential risk to other dogs/people or whatever are kept securely on the lead and not let off in public places. surely it's common sense - if you think your dog could start on another dog etc than keep it on the lead. I love dogs and previously had dogs myself and this is not about the dog as such. This is about the owner being responsible which you automatically have when you buy/rehome/adopt a dog. You hear some people saying, oh just let the dogs get on with it, they'll sort it out.......WELL NO! not always, a dog fight could escalate resulting in serious injuries or even death. I agree that socialising a dog is important but in a controlled environment under close supervision. Now many dogs wouldn't ever snap/bite or growl but I guess you just never know. After all being on the receiving end of a potential order to put your own dog to sleep or having to make that horrible decision yourself about someone else's dog must be horrendous. This is not a rant and does not mean to come across like I'm telling people what they can and can't do - this post is meant as advice and will hopefully make people think twice As to whether it's safe or not. If this post saves 1 accident from happening than that's better than it is now.

A few days ago I went for a walk with a friend and saw a man with his dogs and all of a sudden, 2 large dogs came from no where and started attacking his dogs, again the owner was chatting around the corner with no idea of the danger. I thought to myself this must happen so many times. I hope this post is found helpful and doesn't start up a massiv debate lol!

Mate no offence, but this is a Cardiff City football forum, not Battersea dogs and cats forum. Every post from you is either about your psychic cat or boring dog stories.

Change the record ffs.

Silly pointless thread, the ramblings of a madman !!

I’ll make a point about dangerous dogs, I was seeing a girl about 15 year back and on one occasion, took her home one night across the Buttrils field in Barry, it was a Summers evening, getting dark and we started getting amorous, one thing led to another and I was bending her over balls deep going for it, all of a sudden I heard some rustling in the background and a large dog came out of nowhere, and started coming towards us, the great thing was just curious, took a few sniffs and walked off … Lesson learnt, not all big dogs are dangerous.

Point taken about it's a football forum. Just to let u know the cat is Not psychic but it is related to football. I see quite a few posts on here that aren't football related which I have no interest in but I simply just don't message back or even read the post in the first place. The title does state non football related so you didn't have to read it either. To be honest it's quite doom and gloom a lot of the time on here so wanted to change the subject abit. Everyone's gonna be different on here simples. Will tone the animal posts down I promise but can't stop Mr Smooth! If you post something I have no interest in, in future, don't worry, I won't lower myself to throwing abuse back at you.

I'd like to think I'm a responsible dog person and the proud owner of two fabulous pooches, Kickboxer and Satan. They often show how much they love me by bringing me home little gifts like hands and ears. If anyone has lost a hand or ear then pm me.

There are some horrible people out there Norms. As it happens, I'm selling a Rolex and gold ring on behalf of a mate if your interested. Both the watch and ring are in pristine condition apart from light bitemarks and blood stains. I'll throw in a nose if your interested.

Not sure about the nose ring as there was only a bit of nostril left after I'd wrestled it off Satan. I've got those other watch brands too but they're obviously second hand. I'll throw in a couple of eyes if you want, ones still got a nice bit of lid left on it.
