Why did they both have to go? We sold them both for a few hundred thousand each! Gestede should have been loaned out when we were in the Premiership and McCormack should never have been sold. It was a ridiculous decision just because Dave Jones fell out with him.

McCormack was 2nd choice to Chopra and was smashing his car up and had problems off the pitch as I remember, while Gestede was absolute pants at the time and in hindsight, yes we should have kept them both but at the time I feel it was right to get rid of them

the decision to sell each player was the right one at the time. we got a pittance for mccormack, though. we should have insisted on a significant sell on clause on him. same with gestede.

We don't seem to understand what a sell-on clause is.

There was absolutely no need to sell Gestede. Okay, he wasn't great, but he showed some decent signs in the Championship before we were promoted. We were in the Prem, he was on loan at Blackburn, instead of getting a tiny fee for him (pretty sure it was like £100-300k but could be wrong) why not just extend the loan for the rest of the season, waiting 6 months would have let us see him score 12 goals in 21 games for the remainder of the season, and he would have been perfect to put back in our side after we were relegated.

I was gutted when tested left felt he had a lot more to offer us.
Oh well life goes on good luck to them both. But not against us. Lol.

Or the real reasons are Gestede was got rid of by Malky because he didn't rate him and McCormack was overweight and was drinking so after a fall out with the manager he went as we had a striker performing ok at the time anyway.(Chopra)
