Sat Sep 10, 2016 7:13 pm

He s the only player willing to run at defenders ffs ?????

Maybe at a tough place like Norwich it was safer defensively to have John who is more familiar at wing back than Harris.

He was left out because he is fast, direct and can unsettle the opposition. Simples

He's not a wing back! Wrong formation to play to accommodate him IMO. Is he better than noone as well?? I'm not so sure!

The formation is not suiting many of our players! Peltier is not a centre back, Bruno can't play in a back 3 pairing yet he is a quality defender! He doesn't like getting pulled out into the right back position! Huws should also be starting!

Just my opinion but I personally think a 4231 formation would suit us better!

---------------------------Wilson---------------------
Richards--------Morrison----manga------Bennett if fit??
----------------gunnarsson-----whitts--------------
--------------pilks-----huws-------noone-----------
-------------------------lambert---------------------

I wouldn't start Harris. Lex has been poor on and off the ball and I've been disappointed with Ralls this yr so far! Huws has to get the nod ahead of him!

You sound just like Trollope, Slade and any number of managers we've had with an inferiority complex.

"Tough place like Norwich" Great. Let's not bother trying to win this one by playing a pacy attack minded player.

They're much better than we are.

We'll be lucky to get a point.

Let's keep it tight and see if we can nick a win.

Typical mentality I'm afraid of a lower league manager who is basically scared shitless of going all out to win an away game against what in his mind is a "big name" in a "tough place".

Because perceived wisdom says that Harris and Whitts are defensively frail and we were going there to baton down the hatches. But, we must offer something in an attacking front otherwise it becomes a defence vs offense training session and the inevitable happens.

I must admit Saturday will be my first chance to see the Trollope team but Whitts and Gunnar as sitters just doesn't work for me as I don't believe Whitts like passing to Gunnar unless its super safe. The only combo I can see working in this set up is Whitts/O'Keefe.

I'd prefer to go back to the malky 4141 and play Whitts behind Ralls, Huws,Immers,Pilks. We could starve the opposition of the ball, pulling them out of position to allow us to get the ball to Lambert with four midfielders willing to make runs into the box.

It looks as if we will need to score three goals a game to get three points, so lets have a go.

..............GK ????

Peltier Morrison Manga Bennett
........ Whitts
Pilks Immers Huws Ralls
.....Lambert

I agree totally. Though I'd have Amos in goals. Wilson doesn't fill me with confidence and Moore was better.

Starting Richards was automatically giving Norwich 3 points, put him with the dvp team. Dreadful.

I agree with a lot of your post but would have Harris ahead of Noone, he's been poor for a long time and doesn't beat a man anymore. Would you bring O'Keefe back in once fit?

I think 4-2-3-1 would suit Immers more, with a striker and 2 wingers already further forward he would have more options

I'd love to see Harris get a proper run of games to settle in.

Good point.

Certainly I'd bring Okeefe in. He was starting to establish himself and putting in good shifts!

I'm still on the fence with Harris plus I don't want to see him playing wingback . I agree with what you say about noone, but we do know he has it in him to show quality and can also chip in with a goal or two!

Lex has been well under par this season and a shadow of the same guy who covered every blade of grass last season! We spent alot of money on huws and he needs to be starting for me! His direct forward thinking play is the link we are missing Between defence and upfront!
