A forum for all things Cardiff City

Yes, we are a Welsh club but why are the club trying to model us on the Welsh team. Unfortunately we have no pace in the team like Bale neither do we have someone who can run the midfield like Ramsay. Clearly our defenders are not solid at the back.
Surely we have to play a system which suits the players that we have already got in the squad. If we don't have the quality of players to play the formation then go back to basics. The club seem to want to build 'the Cardiff way' in an effort to improve performance, results and then inevitably better crowds. As it stands we are not performing playing this formation and 1 win in 7 is not good enough. The obsession of trying to balance the books overnight is going to cost us. Playing without a striker for a season and then selling your number 1 &2 keepers.
It may be a transitional period but before the transition finishes we could be relegated the way that we are playing. Today was a classic example, yes the club eventually brought in a goal scorer in Lambert but we have no pace in the team. Noone & Harris both warming the bench today. It's fair to say the 'the Cardiff way' is not functioning, we are not getting results, playing boring football and I would be shocked if attendances improve at this time.
Forget about being obsessed with the Wales way and just utilise the players we have. Play the formation which suits the players and get Noone & Harris out wide getting the ball in for Lambert. Looks like the Wales way with no plan B.

It's not even the Wales way though. There's very little in the way of pressing, we sit very deep.
There's so little fluidity going forward, let alone pace.

Totally agree. We should use wingers to make the most of Lambert. Harris has played well and deserves to be selected. Ralls and Immers have disappointed.
