Yes, I was! Then went on to play Wrexham and Everton. Was at those, too. Great days! :bluescarf: :bluebird:

100% was there! :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Peter Sayer became a City legend that day. The Wrexham game was a classic, too and we went on (what was then) a pretty good FA Cup run by City standards until we came up against a good Everton side with the excellent Duncan McKenzie up front!

Was it really that long ago?

The Wrexham game is the one that I always remember the most.

And behind the scenes Liverpool were making a cash offer plus Toshack for Sayer. The then chairman was in favour, but was outvoted by the committee, and the deal was dead in the water.

Yes Sven. The chairman at the time, sadly no longer with us, became one of my closest friends. Told me a lot of stories about the behind the scenes issues being played out. Was a bit of an eye opener for me, and when I became directly involved with the club's finances later on, I learnt that what football clubs say publicly are often completely different to the true situation.

Remember it well, Peter Sayer went out with my ex girlfriend, she was impressed with his TR7 sports car lol. At the end of that spurs match we had a massive fight with their mob outside the Grange end, wild scenes.

I was 14 at the time and I remember the complete riot that was outside the Grange and the Park opposite. I also remember catching the train home to Newport with hundreds of Spurs fans :o I was very quite during the 15 minute journey
