Tottenham are on course to smash records with their first Champions League tie at Wembley Stadium.
Spurs are confident they can top their biggest home crowd, which currently stands at 75,038 for an FA Cup sixth-round tie against Sunderland in 1938.
Wembley will be at full capacity for Wednesday’s Group E game against Monaco and tickets, which went on general sale on Tuesday, are already well past the 50,000 mark.

Any attendance of this size would also beat Arsenal’s best when they used Wembley Stadium for their Champions League ties at the end of last century.
Arsenal’s biggest crowd was 73,707 against Lens in November 1998 before the stadium was rebuilt.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will play their Champions League games at Wembley this season, starting with group fixtures against Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow, because the capacity at White Hart Lane is restricted by work on the club’s new £400million stadium.

Chairman Daniel Levy, meanwhile, has suggested that the new stadium, set to open in 2018, could host American football matches on the same day as Spurs games.
Levy has struck a 10-year deal with the NFL to host two games a year and he told ESPN: ‘How exciting, the idea of having the two biggest leagues in the world, from a television perspective — fantastic, playing on the same day.’

Big club. Long since outgrown White Hart Lane, as it is now.

New ground being equipped for NFL games as well. Can see that being a home for a British franchise team in the coming years.
