Manchester United are ‘serious’ about their interest in Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, according to reports in the Spanish press.

The 27-year-old is reportedly in talks over a new bumper contract in Madrid, but Sport report that Manchester United are monitoring the situation with Jose Mourinho seriously interested in tempting the Welsh star to Manchester.

The report also claims Madrid fear that they don’t have the budget to keep Bale, who is reportedly asking for more than the £8million he earns per year.
