Paul Trollope - Time To Kick On
Trollope:"We've improved,pleased with our matches so far and now with the new addition we can finish the matches"

Head coach Paul Trollope has said he believes Cardiff City will kick on in the Championship following the international break.
With a few new faces now at the club following deadline day, and build up to Norwich well underway after the international action, Trollope told the Official Site that he felt the side was improved and would hit the ground running this weekend.
Speaking about the addition of Rickie Lambert firstly, he said of the former West Bromwich Albion man.
'He will bring a lot, Rickie. He obviously has a great, great goal-scoring record. He`s a good lad - good in the dressing room and he`ll be very good for the spirit of the group. It`s not only scoring goals; he can create goals and also link a lot of the play together. He`s a target man who can get hold of the ball and provide a platform for us to play off.'
He went on to say that overall he's been pleased with the first set of games, but we had to be more clinical when we were on top in games, and he felt Lambert would help us to make that difference.
'From the first group of five, six games, we feel we`ve got into some really nice positions and played some decent stuff at times, but not finished it off when we`ve been on top. We`ve looked extensively in that area and were really delighted to get Rickie on board. Looking at the others, Joe Bennett we feel is a really good replacement for Fábio and Brian Murphy will provide good cover in the goalkeeping department. We`re really pleased with the business that we did.'
With a trip to Norwich next up, it's obviously a familiar set of surroundings at Carrow Road for Trollope following his time with them as a coach, and he's looking forward to his return - but he wants to return with all three points.
'Absolutely. We're back to one of my old Clubs - it seems like I have a lot of those at the moment at the start of this season! It`s a good Club and they`ve got a good side there so we know it`s going to be a challenge. We`ve shown a lot of good things from our games though. As I said, we`re disappointed to not have capitalised on some of the good play we`ve produced and chances we`ve created. We`ve got three games in the week so we`re going into a busy period. As we come back into it we`ll be hitting the ground running ready for the next set of games.'

He's pleased with the first set of games? 
Needs to raise his expectations quite a lot. We've played some average teams and whilst we've looked ok at times, we've also been outplayed at times.
Tougher tests to come and the manager and the players need to raise their games quickly.
Sounds a bit like all the eggs are in the Rickie Lambert basket - let's hope he's up to the task.

He sounds as though it's all going to be on Rickie Lamberts shoulders, very much shit or bust. I hope he can score the 15 goals or so that will be needed for us to survive this season

Trollope is beginning to sound like Slade,how in God's name can any manager be pleased with two home defeats out of three,is Trollope a Slade clone? I'm beginning to think so

I guess this all depends on individual opinions on whether the team have actually performed okay in the games to date. Sometimes, the results can hide an underlying and I haven't seen us overwhelmed by the opposition
Quite the contrary, in fact. In the games I've watched this season, the team has looked solid and compact as a unit and the only thing that has been missing is striker who can deliver the goods regularly
Do we now have that 'missing link' striker?
Only time will tell but if I was Paul Trollope, I would be seeking to point out the positives before a tough set of matches ahead, too. It's far better than chucking in the towel after 5 games, as many on here appear to have done!
