CARDIFF CITY UNDER 18'S 1-2 IPSWICH TOWN UNDER 18'S
Saturday 3rd September 2016
A goal either side of the break ensured Town’s U18s would maintain a 100% record start to the new season with a 2-1 win over Cardiff City at USW Sports Park this morning.
In an opening 45 in which neither side managed to impose themselves in, midfielder, Tristan Nyda’s goal had the Blues in front at half-time with his third goal in as many games as he turned the ball home from a set-piece.
The Bluebirds levelled with 15 to play in the torrential rain in Cardiff, but with time running out, Flynn Downes claimed all three points for Town with a beautiful free-kick which flew into the top corner.
Next up for Alan Lee’s 18s is a visit from Huddersfield Town at Playford Road next Saturday [September 10th].
Town: Wright, Meldrum, Marshall, Woolfenden, Murrall, McKendry, Downes, McGavin, Cahill, Nydam, Daniels.
