WE CAN BE THE DARK HORSES THIS SEASON!!!

Sat Sep 03, 2016 12:07 pm

We have struggled to get the goals as we have had a bit too much to do to produce a decent finish, although we have goalscorer's in the squad.

But now.....

With Lambert up front we will give defence's that bit too much to think about and we will start to break them down. :bluebird:

Once we start scoring and Lambert puts his stamp on the front line, confidence will develop and galvanise the whole team, we will become a force to be wreckoned with, even against the top teams and their millions! :ayatollah: :bluebird:

When we got promoted everyone chipped in and Lambert could be the catalyst to make that happen again. :ayatollah:

YOU CAN ONLY PUT 11 MEN ON THE PITCH AT ONCE, HOWEVER MUCH YOU SPEND, THAT DOESENT NECESARILY MAKE A TEAM!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Good post and I want to believe that we can gather some momentum now.

The past is the past and while some fans will never forgive I would prefer to look forward and support our club.

Lambert is a great player when he has great players around him, unfortunately he has not got that at his disposal at this club. There's a lot of people here that are truly going to be dissapointed in Lambert. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm afraid Wez says that to everyone who takes a realistic attitude towards the club. Best to say we will easily win the league this season by at least twenty points, Lambert will get fifty plus goals for us but will still only finish second highest goalscorer behind Whittingham. No doubt about us beating Chelsea by eight in the FA cup final either. And we are going to tear the PL apart next season. ;)

No we are simply not good enough we might finish top 8 at a push but realistically I'm thinking 12-16th

My thoughts before a ball was kicked this season too.

Let's face it, as fans we never know all that goes on behind the scenes at the club. This summer and the embargo last Jan definitely lends me to believe we still are in a period of break down and rebuild. Apart from me wishing we had sold Marshall for higher fee in Jan, I will say I am decently pleased with our acquisitions. If we can get them all fit and fighting for starting spots then we have a decent squad capable of staying in the division and having a punt for play off spot. I'm thinking Marshall saw the cuts and that the club would not be in a position to offer him the contract he deserves in a year from now, so ultimately based on his statement "thanks to CCFC for letting me make this move" I'm led to believe he wanted to leave. That's ok though as he has been a fantastic servant for us and deserves a shot back in Prem

There's a few on here that don't know the difference between realism with being positive and blind optimism.
In my opinion we won't get relagated with or without Lambert and we will be far off from being dark horses!!

There is plenty of evidence to support the notion that those who spend the most are the ones who finish top come the end of the season.

But like everything it's not an exact science. Burnley have been promoted twice on a limited budget and of course the JB's did the same in 2011. I really believe that a side can get promoted by being shrewd in the transfer market.

I believe we have been shrewd this season and it's a welcome culture change which I hope we will continue to follow in the next decade and beyond.

BTW I agree with you we could just sneak promotion via the play-offs. :ayatollah:

Until next May we don't know what realism is? :? It's all opinion and it's just some of us have a more positive one :D

Of course it's all about opinion and you can tell the posters with a more positive outlook against those with a more negative slant.
While there are posters where everything is doom and gloom like Angeles, moo cow etc. there are others with blind optimism that say we will win the league like wez and Rydog.
As always mate, time will tell.
