I think the Russians proved that at Euro 2016 in France! ;)

In recent years in the UK, we mainly hear of 'soft targets' being attacked rather than the all-out battles of days gone by. That's not a bad thing but there is still a mentality amongst some to cause 'snap' problems given half the chance! :(

I think the mentality is a lot different in the main; but don't underestimate the effect of CCTV, all-seater stadiums and tactical policing practices (which are not all good, as we know from trips to South Yorkshire and certain other areas) ;)

Were all these arrests for "football hooliganism"? Or just arrests made associated with football matches? Do these figures include those arrested for having one too many at the match? Or those who have been arrested due to not bowing down to what some over zealous steward has requested? Although I expect it still simmers under the surface, hooliganism is a thing of the past as Sven has pointed out, though I expect the figures would change if there were less no restriction games :ayatollah:

the Russians are organised meeting with rival firms etc like British firms used to do but since the police clammed down on it the only ones you hear off is drunken individuals picking on people.unless there's some underground meets I really don't know :laughing6: good post though :thumbright:

Exactly Nukes, why fight when you can lay down for 90 minutes and sleep, dreaming for the final whistle to blow and getting back to the pub :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6:

Finished in this country. Most of them arrests will be non violent and the ones for violence will just be a teen bouncing up to another teen, punching him then back bouncing off.

Suprised to see Fulham on there, they are some of the tamest home fans in the league. and Millwall are lower than expected considering the shit they cause.

Man U at No2 yet the press seldom give them a hard time. When a few Rangers Fans (out of 200,000)were performing at the UEFA cup final in Manchester a few years ago it got miles of column inches with politicians jumping on the bandwagon, yet more Mancs were arrested in Glasgow out of a travelling support of less than 5,000, seems it's a case of giving a dog a bad name.
