Time to reflect on transfers

Thu Sep 01, 2016 6:01 am

22.55pm last night I was fuming and while one signing won't solve our problem, and we need to get him March fit when you come away from the emotion of everything the fact we have offloaded so many high earners even though we would have liked to keep a few I don't think we can complain.

As I have said before, house in order was paramount and it's been a case of rough with the smooth over the transfer window but the huge wages slashed and the joke players who were bleeding us dry removed is fantastic news.

Without doubt we need more pace but Harris could progress, pilks I believe will now shine without the pressure and we haven't seen bennet or huws yet so we can be optimistic. I think a mid table spot can be achieved at best if we can get Ricky firing and fit but a huge transitional period for city and it was needed to move forward. :bluescarf: :bluebird: :ayatollah:

For me Lambert is not the signing we need. He's old and slow and has done sod all in recent years whether he's played or not. He's better than we have but do we really need a target man the way Trollope sets his teams up? Perhaps he will change the system to get the best out of him.
Hopefully he'll score a few as you don't always lose that ability with age but I don't think he's going to push this team up the league. Hope I'm wrong.
