CARDIFF CITY GOOD BUSINESS IN THE WINDOW?

Le Fondre, Macheda, Dikagchoi, Marshall, Fabio gone, must have been costing us 120k a week? In their place , Huws, Bennett, Amos and possibly Lambert. Probably enough to keep us up, but nothing more than that, still no pace.

Rebuild is the obvious strategy now, too many big teams in our division to even get close to last seasons eighth place finish. Disappointing window from an enticing the fans back perspective, but one that might mean the start of better times ahead in a year or two. This window has been plain daft, glad we haven't been as kamakazee as some may have been.

Getting some of the cost off the wage bill is clearly good. I think if we had got in a pacy goalscorer, it would have been classed as a very good window; Having not addressed our goal scoring issue and relying on a 34 year old is very poor planning and leaves us woefully short in that department.

We are also significantly weaker in goal - both from a 1st choice perspective and a depth point of view.

I'm just waiting for the club to roll out the "we'll strengthen in the Jan transf window if we are in contention"bullshit statement.

Pace is everything in this league and we have none.

Yep, got rid of the three Ole amigos and signed a proper striker.

Sadly Marshy left, but that football.

From a business and cost cutting point of view -yes.

From a playing point of view - we'll just have to wait and see.

Gutted about marshall and Fabio but finally got rid of three wasters in le fondre, macheda and digckachoi. Lambert is a very good signing at 34 ,he never had any pace.Hopefully huws gets up to speed and slots into a poor midfield

balanced the books more and got a proven goal scorer so it's been a good window

good but not great, im concerned we didnt buy a keeper. lets hope Amos is up for it

Difficult window, would have liked to have got a second quick striker. Lets hope that Lambert can bang some in. Great to finally get rid of the 3 wasters. Marshall is a sad one, a great fans favorite who served us well but we should have got a few more mill for him in a perfect world. Looking forward to the next games to see if we can improve. :bluescarf:

Agreed and I don't think we have the players to make 532 work i.e. we lack flair and pacey players in the centre of the park so need to utilise wide players to provide that pace (which we have in Harris and some other youngsters - I just hope Trollope is not too stubborn to change.

But let's see

The Lambert signing has at least given us some hope.
