Frontman seals switch to South Wales

ALBION striker Rickie Lambert has tonight joined Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee.

Lambert, 34, arrived from Liverpool last summer and went on to make five Premier League starts and a further 14 substitute appearances in 2015/16, scoring once.

He appeared off the bench in this season’s league defeat to Everton, and most recently started the Club’s EFL Cup second-round tie at Northampton Town.

Lambert joins a Cardiff side who are currently 17th in the Championship and finished just outside the play-off places last season.

Everyone at West Bromwich Albion would like to wish Rickie all the very best for the future.

In all competitions, Lambert made 10 starts and a further 16 substitute outings for the Club, scoring once against Leicester City at The Hawthorns.

Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City have completed the signing of West Bromwich Albion striker Rickie Lambert, according to the club’s official website.

The 34-year-old is yet to score for the Baggies this season, and has only netted once since signing for the Midlands outfit last summer.

He is likely to fall even further down the pecking order at the Hawthorns, with Hal Robson-Kanu heading for a medical ahead of the deadline tonight.

He will join a Cardiff City side that are desperate for some firepower up front, and have been heavily criticised since the start of the year.

The club are majorly short of a striker after letting Kenwyne Jones, Joe Mason, Federico Macheda and Adam Le Fondre all leave the club over the past six months.

Lambert will link up with his new Cardiff team mates, and will be thrown into the line-up to face Norwich City away after the international break.

We almost got Mutch too, last minute hitch. Will try again for Jordan in Jan if possible.
