Following his transfer to Hull City, David Marshall has sent us the following words - addressed to Cardiff City supporters...
"I've had seven fantastic years as a Cardiff City player on and off the pitch and I feel extremely lucky and proud to have been involved in some of the best times in the club’s history.
"I'd like to thank all the players and staff that I've worked with at Cardiff City during my time there and wish them success in the future.
"This summer, I had the opportunity to join another great club in Hull City and can't wait to get started there. I'd like to thank Cardiff City for allowing me to take that opportunity.
“Lastly, but most importantly, myself and my family would like to thank all the Cardiff fans who have helped us enjoy the last seven years so much. Your support has been incredible and I hope the club enjoys the success you deserve going forward.”
Marshy.

I didn't mean it in a funny way. But it sounds like he wanted a premiership move

That was public knowledge wasn't it? The only real thing stopping him was his wife and a first team spot in the Prem
Thanks for everything though Marshy, hope you enjoy a long stay in the Prem this time

A Loyal Bluebird

Excellent professional and loyal servant...he was our one huge success in our disasterous premier league season
Good luck Marsh and all the best for the future

Good luck Marshy!
You've been a fantastic sportsman, a great role model for all the little bluebirds going down the city! Gutted you've gone but completely understand the decision! All the best!

True pro and it's been a pleasure watching him. Some of his saves over the years have been like something out of the matrix on lsd. But my favourite without a doubt was the penalty save agaisnt Leicester in the play off semis. Legend.

Sounds like he's paying his respects to players and fans; nothing more!
I don't know how many times it has to be said that Marshall (and his family) were not looking to leave until the club. The club accepted an offer and told Marshy they were "happy" it was in both parties interests
He might have been able to decline, but there was no "we'd prefer you to stay" or "it's up to you" from the City hierarchy and his family were pretty distraught when hey found out. they love(d) it in Cardiff and have not ruled out a move back one day

Sad to see him go.

I had the privilege of meeting him in JUMP in Llanishen.. so down to earth and talkative. Really nice bloke. I honestly can't blame him going, alot of other players would have jumped ship years ago

Superb player for us - I wish him all the best at Hull

Top 'keeper, great bloke, model professional, team player and forever a Bluebird. Gutted he's gone but surprised we kept hold of him this long to be honest. I hope he achieves success throuout the rest of his career, unless he plays against us of course!

One of the most disappointing transfers this season from losing a player point of view, wish Marshy all the best, hugely missed already
