" No signings would mean real problems for Cardiff City "
I know it's obvious but we have to sign one striker today possibly two or we will struggle to score 25 goals by the new year transfer window in the 16 to 18 games in that period...lafferty would not be my pick but the way it is going he would be better than nothing.
There is no emergency loan window anymore so after tonight no signings allowed until January unless we sign a player out of contract...it really is an important 7 hours

I got a horrible feeling we won't sign anyone, hope I'm wrong
Wed Aug 31, 2016 3:18 pm
I hope we sign atleast one striker but it should be 2

Time is getting on....if nobody is signed it will show what a disaster and a sham our transfer committee is!!

Of course we need a striker, a couple of strikers ideally, but I'm not so sure it means real problems.
If we sign somebody like Lafferty, that certainly won't be enough to get us into the play offs whilst if we sign no one then we'll just tick over as we are by winning the odd match, drawing a few and losing a few. Mid table or lower. The club will be happy with that IMO.

if we dont sign a striker we are in for a relegation fight simple as that

Jinks, Not having ago at Corky? because if I said the same or Carl did you would have a lot to say and start blaming everyone but Vincent Tan.

Corky, We need at least one striker in and City have known this for weeks, so theres No excuses.

Even if we do get a striker does it mean that one man will transform this team into play-off hopefuls? I doubt it. The biggest impact would be to get the squad motivated and coached and get the strategy right for each opponents style of play. At Championship level Russ struggled and it looks like the current manager is out of his depth. I'd rather put the money towards a decent manager who has taken clubs into the Prem. It might mean waiting two years to get to the play-offs but we have already wasted the last two years given we had parachute payments coming in.

Yes they will be happy with that.
Not sure how we're going to win too many matches without scoring goals and without a solid keeper at the other end but we have to assume that Tan with his in depth football knowledge knows what he's doing!
It'll be interesting to see how the club tries to drum up business for next year's season tickets - surely everybody must have seen through their "aiming for the play-offs" bollocks by now

I think there is a fine line between mid-table team and a relegation candidate. Club better be smart

Never going to happen whilst Tan is here.
What proper manager would put up with people like Tan, Dalman and Choo telling him what players they want to sign and asking him what he thinks?
Can you imagine Warnock or Pulis putting up with that?
Only cheap yes men will be appointed whilst Tan is still here I'm afraid.

In the last 10 mins on odds checker we've been cut to 5/6 on the sign Rickie Lambert. Interesting.

Cardiff have today been cut to 5/6 from 25/1 to sign Rickie Lambert.

That would be a good signing but would he fit the system we are playing? Not really got much pace but certainly knows where the goal is.
At the moment though I'd be happy if we signed Rickie from Eastenders!

Anyone spotted him in Asda down the Bay or checking out Howells school?

Corky is being realistic about the team and to be fair doesnt constantly have a go at the club whereas you and at times carl i find always post negative things and have a little stir. Same under ridsdale but never hammam.
I dont blame Tan for not spending in a way i think its about time we stopped because all there has been for decades is debt and more debt i'd welcome a few seasons of sensible spending if it means we are run properly.

Jinks, How can I ever be positive after Vincent Tan and The Red Brigade virtually destroyed the club Ive loved so much for 43 years.

The club is at a crossroads.
The spin may be about to unravel choos words and the reality of Tans actions will be shown to everyone.
7.30pm and still no news.
Our best dealings over the yea4s have been the early transfers in June.
Just hope I am wrong and our replacement keeper touted ,we are in challenge with dundalk to signew is not the reality.
The clock is ticking not only on the transfer window but also Tan and choos actions.
A poor transfer window tonight will see crowds well below 8k come the autumn.
