If true he's a winger? We don't need another winger.

Cardiff linked with Gareth McCleary

That’s according to the Sun’s Alan Nixon.

Well, he was excellent on Saturday...

We definitely need a winger, especially one with loads of pace like McCleary. He can play a number of other positions too. I'd be really happy if we can bring McCleary and a striker with loads of pace in before the end of the window. We could play McCleary, Noone and hopefully a new striker with pace up front. We wouldn't have to continue with the laboured and far too slow combinations of Immers, Pilkington and Gounongbe all the time. With 3 pacey players as our forwards, plus Harris and John as wing backs, we would have a much better counter attacking team, that would scare the crap out of defences. Then we can play the 3-5-2 formation much better, cause just like Wales we would have a front three that has great pace, that can run with the ball, take players on, etc. That is the exact reason why the 3-5-2 formation is not working for us at all, at the moment. To play it well you must have pace throughout your side and especially up front and we don't have that at all. Hopefully the signing of McCleary and a striker with pace can change that for us.

Also, it would be great if we could get Macheda and Le Fondre off the wage bill too. Maybe if we can get them moved on, we can bring a young Premier League forward in on loan for the season to add more depth to the squad.

Noones f*cking useless mate. Provides 0 attacking g threat apart from the odd cross from ten yards past the half way line and 1 worldie a season.

It's nothing more than a tweet from an unreputable source. Don't get your hopes up.

The rumour is now fading fast - like most transfer rumours!

G-Mac staying put

So the word I’m getting on McCleary and Cardiff is that there is nothing in it.

From what I understand it is nothing more than agents doing what agents do best close to deadline day.

I believe G-Mac is in Jamaica anyway on international duty so it would be very difficult for any move to happen now.

So I don’t think we will see him rock up in south Wales any time soon.

Not saying rumours are true but a player can sign for another club in different country. They would just use fax machine and he could have a medical there

I have missed the last few games but I thought Noone did well in the No 10 position when he came on in the 2nd half at St Andrews. He was drifting all along the 18 yard line and causing panic in the Birmingham defense. He got a good few shots off and showed some imagination and pace. It made a real change from the one trick pony routine he got stuck in when playing right wing.

I'd rather see Noone played on the left so he doesn't have to cut inside every time he wants to cross a ball.

You pedantic bugger. Obviously one of the 3 central midfielders would join the two wingers up front when we are attacking and in possession of the ball. Then when we are defending without the ball, the midfielder moves back into his original position. It's not hard, do keep up. ;)
