Why mock the afflicted?

I remember 'Bouncer' (bottom right) in my early days supporting the club and he usually had a little plastic Copper's helmet on his head!

A harmless guy (I believe he resided at Ely Hospital) and a bit of a character who was well known around the club during the 1970's

Not sure why his image is up here with the other two?! :?

Believe his name was Terry. And yes he was from Ely Lodge, The Canton Police used to look after him, and every year he was invited to the Police children' Xmas Party He always used to wear a little plastic toy Police helmet, he used to call in Canton Police Station on a Saturday, and the Officers used to give him a lift to Ninian Park. at one game it kicked off with rival fans. One of the Officers as a joke, gave Terry an old World War 2 helmet to wear at the match, which he did, and the South Wales Echo put a photo of Terry wearing the helmet, (as in the photo above) and the headlines were "The only sensible man at the match.

Ah, yes. It was Terry!

He was a fixture at Ninian Park and (as you said) the local Coppers looked after him famously. There was absolutely no harm in him and I've often asked over the years what happened to him. We called him 'Bouncer' because of the way he used to do exactly that bending his knees with his hands behind his back like a Copper would! ;)

Thanks for reminding me the name of a good old character :ayatollah:

Was taking the Mick, Wez; hence the term afflicted ;)

I don't know the second character but sat near Dai for years and it was an experience. You couldn't even look in his direction and he was off on one of his rants!

I used to think there was no real harm in him, but he's a pain in the proverbial... ;) :ayatollah:
