With the transfer deadline rapidly approaching what are your thoughts about the clubs transfer business this summer?

Poor but still time

Average. From a business perspective doing well to balance the books!
But football isn't your usual business. So come on Vinny. Time to spend some of that cash! Do that and it'll be 'good'
Only expecting a safe mid table finish. Consolidate. Let other teams go mad and implode with their transfer business. Some of it outrageous!

I dont think you can really answer that question until the window is closed as it is still a work in progress. The next few moves could easily be kill or cure!
You never know, a couple of masterstrokes here and there and we could still have the penny and the bun while all the other teams spunk millons up the wall!!
Im not holding my breath though!

Surely this poll should be run when the window has closed and all our business has been completed?

I'll give you an opinion at the end of October. Too early to judge now.

exactly, this is a pointless thread, existing only to have a moan about the lack of business.
come back on september 1st, as its clear we will be busy in the transfer market in the next week or so.

Don't see it as a 'pointless thread'. Just wanted to see what the feeling was amongst City fans considering the transfer window is 95% done. It closes in 5 days time! Based on what's happened or hasn't happened over the past 18 months are you expecting Messi, Ronaldo etc to be brought in before then? If City bought a proven goal scorer then that would be excellent but what are the chances of that happening?

To be fair the most crucial bit of business usually takes place in the last day. Add to that our potentially most important signing has not happened yet which everyone knows we desperately need. I would say the jobs not even half done at the moment and until that window closes, we cant really judge things.
Its a bit like judging a cake by dipping your finger in the mix before it goes in the oven. Im not going to slag off the cook untill I have tasted the finished article frosting and all. If it turns out not to be baked right and there is no frosting, im going to get my knickers in a bunch!

Apologies mate, it's not a pointless discussion, but transfer business should be judged at the end of the window IMO.
