Wrong headline?

Blackburn buy Derrick Williams from Bristol City (and loan Tommy Hoban from Watford).

He is a terrific left back that has been with the Wurzels for years. I'm shocked that they've sold both their first choice fullbacks this summer. Luke Ayling, who is a brilliant right back - who can also play at centre half - has joined Leeds and now Williams has gone to Blackburn. If we had not of had such a great deal with Joe Bennet signing on a free, then I would have been fuming that we hadn't have tried to sign Williams ourselves. Why does he want to go to bloody Blackburn?? With Coyle in charge I can see them getting relegated.

Whatever anyway, it doesn't matter now as I feel Bennett is a great replacement for Fabio. I'm gutted about Marshall, but if we can bring in a quality first choice GK - ahead of Amos - on loan for the rest of the season and then use the money we already have and the £2.5m from the Marshall sale. Then we could have at least £3m to spend on a striker.

I don't agree with everybody that says we need a Championship proven striker to score us goals. We tried that with Le Fondre, Macheda, Maynard and one or two others and they didn't do the business for us. Brentford signed Andre Gray from Luton Town, Burnley signed Charlie Austin from Swindon Town, Nottingham Forest signed Brit Asssombalonga from Peterborough and there are a few other strikers like those listed above. Who scored loads of goals in League 1 or League 2 & some even in the Conference, but they all went on to score loads of goals at Championship level. They were all young prospects at the time, they had loads of potential and they also had time to improve. We signed Eoin Doyle from Chesterfield who was 27, nearly 28, who scored goals, but he didn't have loads of potential and he wasn't going to improve much more. So that's why he hasn't done it at this level for us or Preston, so far. Personally, I think we need to sign a young striker, who has the potential, who has years ahead of him to improve, who is hungry & desperate to be given a chance to show what he can do. Finally we need a striker that scores goals for fun and scores them on a regular basis. It doesn't matter if the striker has only scored goals at the lower levels, because if he's young enough, eager to learn, works hard, improves and with him playing against better players, then he will definitely get better.

Take a chance I say, on one of the quality young strikers that are around in League 1, League 2 or down in the Non-Leagues. Plus, also bring in a Striker from the Premiership on loan for the season. Numerous Championship clubs have done just that and they are presently reaping those rewards.
