A forum for all things Cardiff City

With a week to go in the 2016/17 summer transfer window, Premier League clubs have players now in their final 12 months on contracts so is there anybody who should be instantly tied down to a new deal by your club, or is there anybody you'd want to take a cheeky punt on in the hope their club decides to cash in - even if it meant dropping a level.
All these players, as of the time Talksport compiled them (if I don't do the legwork, I can't take the blame for being wrong!), will be free agents come the end of the 2016/17 campaign and there are some big names and big experience amongst them who could clearly do a job for somebody in the Premier League still - it just depends on where they end up come next summer.
So with the caveat of not believing any of these have signed new deals yet, announced early retirement or anything like that, are there any you'd like to line up in the shirt for September? Taking out any obvious superstars that are beyond our reach, the list includes every Premier League player in the last year of their contacts, still there's some players we could realistically get?
Here is the list below, discuss.

one or two or three or four, I would pick, but when you take into consideration there golden hellos, of signing on fee, wage testimonials etc etc, we will be recruiting from the Welsh league, and that's not a bad thing!

anyone got any ideas from there to save our transfer committee the bus fare

Get sanogo in

Of all those, I think only George Boyd and Frazer Campbell are realistic, although I could probably forgive Marvin Emnes for tearing us a new one every time he played us, if he was prepared to denounce his past (a bit like Jazz Richards finally did

) and come over to the light side!

And Zlatan could come off the bench for either Zohore or Fred when we're 5-0 up.
