' EVERYONE IS JUMPING THE GUN '

Tue Aug 23, 2016 8:11 am

I am puzzled by a lot of people on here!

There have been calls for the club to be run properly, over the last few years its been the economics of the madhouse, I would say that the club is now trying to get the thing on track which is badly needed, it was only this January when we fell into embargo due to spending more than the rules permit!!! THAT IN MY BOOK SHOULD OVER-RIDE EVERYTHING, OTHERWISE THERE WILL BE NO CLUB.

People are jumping the gun by saying the club is not doing this or not signing this one, we should wait until the transfer window is closed before making any judgement on what the club is aiming at. An important factor which needs to be put in the mix is getting the 3 unwanted players who are taking £100K a month off our salary bill, with them still in place its like trying to operate with one hand tied behind your back. :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :digging2:

Personally I think if we are not going to play them we should negotiate termination of contracts afterall got pay them regardless! at least then know what funds available to buy players or not as case might be?

Allan, unless you are Rydogsccfc, we don't really know what is going on behind closed doors in relation to shifting these players (maybe others?) out to pastures new

I often take a jocular rise out of Ryan for stating things he later says are "just his opinion" but he made a valid point a couple of days ago when he inferred that if the three remain come Deadline Day, the situation will need to change rapidly and contracts might well need to be paid up to allow each player to go negotiate their next moves as 'free agents' outside of Transfer Window rules

If the club know this might happen, we may just see a last minute recruitment programme put in place prior to the Transfer Window closing

I'm not stating that as a fact, but either way it will be telling on how seriously the club sees itself moving forward this season when the world and its dog knows we need a reliable goal scorer; albeit on a set budget :ayatollah:

Its a cat and mouse game.If they don't find new clubs by the transfer deadline I'd let them rot while running down their contracts.

The thought had crossed my mind on ALF and the obese one tbh, but I have some sympathy for Macheda :laughing6:

This is just one of those times where it was a bad bit of business although we've had many of those times. If we have too ship them out and pay a good percentage of their wages even 50 to 75 percent thats still better than them mugging us for full wages playing for the development side.
Dont know the full story with the 3 players but if the management don't want them is it such a good idea having them training with potential future players for us who want to play for the shirt

All three, & many many more,,,were signed by OGS, at a time when Vincent Tan trusted his management team to make the right decisions.

At the start of OGS short 2014/15 Championship reign, it was claimed, on this MB, that we had about ten or more players on 30k or more a week.
I guess we still have at least three of them left!

But what's alternative? by keeping high wages on books when just come out of embargo another embargo awaits?? Gotta go back to go forward at present.

If we don't shift them by deadline day then what? have them sit on their fat arses for 9mnths or do we pay up contracts? that's point making either way it's a waste of time and money.

im sorry al but when they sold Fabio and replaced him with a jack was the tip of the iceberg, yeah I agree we needed to get players off the books but not our most commited and a fan favourite.and to think we still got Alf and macheda on the books takes the piss :thumbright:

I would try and get our monies worth and give either of them a chance as a striker on the subs bench, you just never know they could score goals for us and change the game if needed.

My thoughts exactly. As long as they have the right attitude, and Trollope will know that, give them a chance if we can't shift them in this window.
