JORDAN RHODES OUT OF BORO?

There have been plenty of reports over the weekend linking Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes with a move to the Championship, with Wolves at the front of the queue to sign him on loan.

Boro paid £12million to sign him from Blackburn last January but he was left out of the squad for the win at Sunderland yesterday.

If Middlesbrough reduce that by £12 million and his wages then it maybe a goer. But we all know this is fantasy.

I know he got them to the Premier League but they well overpaid for him. I also don't think he's fast enough for our defensive 3-5-2 formation.

Always fascinated me that no big club has ever really taken an interest in him and that he's never been a regular on the international scene.

Really? I thought it was pretty obvious he offers next to no link up play, and unless you can afford him the service, he's a luxury player. The fact that Scotland constantly overlook him, as well as Middlesbrough after spending 6 months with him seem to back this up.

Our best loan bet would be bamford from chelsea.
Maybe get that turkish lad that liverpool released on a trial

I agree.....I'm going over old ground from a few years back. He doesn't offer enough hence why nobody at the top wants him. He's never tried to adapt his game to offer more which is a pity as he can clearly score goals.

Regardless, he's way out of our price range on current earnings unless 'Boro were paying a big part of his wages.

No chance can we sign players like this anymore. Out of our league I'm afraid :bluebird:

ppl saying he offers nothing must be confused with what a strikers job is,hes there to score goals and thats what wins games

Reducing the debt is the club/Tan's priority (at least for now) so signing a player on Joran Rhodes salary is a non-starter in real terms, isn't it? :?

The sad thing about some on this Forum is they want the best of both worlds: let's slag the club off for not signing big money players and then slag them off when they do!

A no-win situation for the club (and Tan) at the moment, I'm afraid. He's rightly trying to reduce the debt, most agree with that strategy, yet they're still supposed to splash out on demand because some think they can have the best of both worlds

A new striker (or two) who can do the business is essential if we are to have a serious impact this season but we need to be realistic in who they might be and it may even mean 'taking a chance' on a loanee or someone from a lower league :ayatollah:

totally agree people are forgetting that we are close to the fair play Mark hence why we need to get rid of players to bring anyone in ,a striker on loan would be a good start bamford or the quick south African from Bournemouth

Its all a bit Silly. We have as much chance at the moment of signing Gareth Bale, or Ronaldo, as we have of signing JR, as things currently stand!

I had a conversation earlier and the subject of 'honesty' within the club came up

We both agreed that the club are at best being economic with the club's intentions for this season (and maybe a few seasons beyond) and it is starting to have a big effect not only on crowd numbers and atmosphere but also some of senior staff within the club itself!

Whilst Jordan Rhodes may well be out of our reach, there are good strikers out there who will fit the bill and could/would make the difference between what happened last season and this, i.e. see Cardiff City FC fall short of their stated aim of a Top 6 place at worst

Come on, Mr Tan. Come on Mr Dalman. Come on, Mr Choo. Time to level with the fans. We can take the truth. If we are close to the FFP limits again, then tell us. If the debt is the 100% priority, then tell us. If the owner has simply lost interest, then tell us!

On the whole, Cardiff City fans are a resilient and understanding bunch; so long as they know the FACTS and are not given leeway to invent what they don't know...and it's the fans "not knowing" that is so divisive and patently no good for club, owner or fans! ;) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I posted a while ago about how far the clubs attendance's could fall, probably tan does not realise this but after last Tuesday night with barely 10 k in the ground,it will only get worse.
8k will be the norm shortly,if no players are brought in.
As I have stated previously the one bright spot is that tan will cut his losses and sell.
How ken choo can still sell the club to the fans is in all honesty a fraud.
Tans actions speak louder than words and the fans actions are reflected in the current attendance's.
Players performances are perhaps a reflection of what is going at the club at the moment.
A sad state if affairs and we thought risdale was incompetent.

Mate this is an excellent post. You are spot on with this. For gods sake Cardiff City be honest with your fans for once! This statement you constantly make of we are aiming for promotion or a top 6 finish is starting to wear thin! We are now down to the hard core fans who deserve a bit of honesty from you! We unlike the fair weather fans will stick with you through thick and thin so just be upfront with us please we're not stupid!
