Federico Macheda will finally seal his move to Serie A outfit Pescara next week, according to reports in Italy.

The 24-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a move to the top flight newcomers throughout the summer as Cardiff City confirmed that both he and Adam Le Fondre were free to move.

Pescare kick off their league campaign against Napoli tonight, with reports suggesting that they will seal a loan deal for their opponents midfielder Alberto Grassi after the game.

Next on their list is then said to be Macheda, with a deal possibly being concluded by Tuesday. It is not yet clear whether it would be a loan or a permanent deal but with the player's contract set to expire next summer, his exit would almost certainly bring the curtain down on his Bluebirds' career.


Meanwhile Cardiff, Blackburn and Brighton have enquired about Bolton's midfielder Jay Spearing.

The former Liverpool youngster has impressed as Bolton have made a perfect start to their League One campaign but it would be a surprise if the Bluebirds' were to move for another central midfielder after signing Emyr Huws.

Good news about Macheda but do we really need another defence mind central midfielder?

We need this sorted Macheda and Le Fondre ASAP, so that there are No more excuses why we can't afford a new striker.

Great news, as suggested in another thread where a certain poster STATED that Macheda and ALF would have their contracts 'paid up' at the end of August and then retracted to (quote) "my opinion" when questioned!

I think it will happen with Alf And KG though with the money their on I can't see anyone taking them off our hands.

Great news. I expect to see a few names linked with us this week. And I still believe our biggest chance of a striker with real quality is a loannee from a top club.

Every one of our midfielders are better than jay spearing . He is a average championship player at best and would not get on our bench let alone the team.

If its true we are looking at him i would expect 2 midfielders to leave before the window closes.

It'll be a deal whereby we are still paying a % of their wages for all 3.

I'd be puzzled if this was true to be honest. Especially considering we've just bought Huws who's guna struggle to break in and okeefe who's guna be coming back from injury in a few weeks.

Agree can't see Spearing coming here would be a pointless transfer. But who knows at Cardiff
