' Trollope/Cardiff Should Not Ignore Whats Needed '

Stunning comeback shouldn't let poor first-half be ignored against Fulham

By Phil Smith(media Wales)

Sunday 21st August 2016

Credit is clearly due in spades for a remarkable turnaround, but a first half in which Cardiff failed to get a shot on target shouldn't be overlooked.

Cardiff were careless in possession and made themselves look very average.

There are still problems in this squad, with a lack of presence up front and often quite sterile possession. Too often the first move when players receive the ball is to turn back towards goal and play the easy pass.

That gives the opposition time to settle and close up any gaps. Their season is up and running and they deserve plenty of praise for that, but they'll know that so much work is still to be done. They need to perform at the second half level for 90 minutes.

I thought there were some promising signs in the Blackburn match with some neat play but something missing in the final third. A couple of good goals yesterday. If we can put it all together and keep it up for 90 minutes we will soon climb up the table. Probably two or three players short of being a half decent team.

That first half was a disgrace. I presume Manga was dropped for recent mistakes, well if Connolly isn't dropped for that sorry attempt at defending, for their first goal, i'll be flabbergasted.

Your everything in the garden is rosey does my head in, it was an unexpected point, should have been 3 but Marshall seemed to switch off at a vital time in the game, a good second half performance should not be allowed to paper over fragilitys of the team or manager

I see you've started already, what are we 4 games in?Exactly what are the managers fragility's?As far as I remember you've slaged off every manager since you've been a member of this forum without I might add any specific detail as to why they are not up to scratch. If only I could fix it up so you could have a disscussion with Trollope and put him right. But I can't so I guess he'll have to do the best he can and soldier on without your superior insight.

FFS give the guy a chance.

I was not wrong about Mackay or Slade, where you thought they were the greatest managers since slice bread

I'm sure Trollope, Lennie, most of our fans, Stevie Wonder and the bloke from Peters and Lee can see exactly what's needed.

Getting the right player on the budget available however is certainly not going to be easy.

We had a shit half, I'm sure Trollope is addressing it and trying to bring some of the second half positives into the full 90 mins.

Believe it or not your constant bitching is far more annoying than any optimism.

Spot on.
But don't forget - some people are not happy until they're being miserable/negative.
