Anyone else noticed that the Canton Stand is fuller

Sat Aug 20, 2016 1:12 pm

This season the 3 centre blocks seem pretty full and the singing in the last 2 games from there has been pretty good.

Certainly an improvement on last year. Well done to all involved.

Seems a few more in the Family Stand too.

However the Grand Stand is very sparse .

I think there are a lot of fans who've moved from the Ninian Stand due to the stewards acting like The Gestapo.

They have obviously moved from other parts of ground because apparently crowds are lower by about 4k? :o

Attendances at the first 2 home games have been similar to the first 2 last season.

I think it's bollocks that 4K ST holders didn't attend Wednesday. I couldn't attend and lent my card to a mate. Many others would have done the same.

TBH I'm not that bothered about it.
Happens everywhere especially for midweek games with people's shifts and kids bedtimes.

Something doddgy I know if there was 12k there and 4k of ST didn't attend still leaves a very large walk up crowd? personally can't see 4k not Turning up maybe several hundred to 1k that's it !!

I think The announced attendances for the last two games weren't that far off give or take a couple of hundred not turning up

We I thought that even tried imaging all crowd put together and I would say it would have been around 12k? Love to know what each stand holds for comparison!

I noticed that the Canton seemed to have more folks in there so I think folks who want a bit of atmos (who doesn't) have moved there. I sit in the Grange but as my kids are now a bit older, I can see us moving there soon. My favourite spot is in the Ninian on the halfway and half up, same orientation as I remember on the Bob Bank. We all know there is an atmosphere issue at he CCS that needs addressing and that's not saying that we are incapable of generating a buzz because of the layout and acoustics etc but I thought the Canton was immense on Wednesday. I knew they were loud and also for the QPR game but for whatever reason, the sound doesn't travel to to other end of the ground. On a separate note, I thought Fulham did a great job on their pre-match build-up music today - terrace classics and we need to do the same and better. They even piped "Londons Burning" in the bogs for your half-time slash.

Norms, you are correct. I know/hear of loads who have done that and have to say that during the Blackburn game they were the only City fans that could be heard trying to get an atmosphere :ayatollah:

I'm not averse to vince's drum either. Good on him for trying to live the place up!
