The Bluebirds want a striker, full-back and goalkeeper before the transfer and loan window shuts at the end of August
Paul Trollope has admitted he has added a full-back and a goalkeeper to his Cardiff City shopping list – and knows he needs to get his business done fast.
Stopper Simon Moore completed his £500,000 move to Sheffield United on Friday leaving Ben Wilson as the only Bluebirds back-up to No.1 David Marshall.
It comes a week after wing-back Fabio made a £2m switch to Middlesbrough after the Premier League new boys matched the release clause the in Brazilian's contract.
And having already been on the look-out for a frontman to give his side the extra firepower it needs, Cardiff boss Trollope has conceded he will be on the hunt to replace the pair.
With a change in loan rules meaning all transfer activity – even for Football League clubs – has to be completed by the August 31 close to the transfer widow, it means Cardiff have now less than two weeks to get in the three extra bodies they need.
Trollope has been frustrated by the lack of movement, though he says it's normal for a late rush as he looks to bolster his options and said: “We're still looking. It seems most clubs are leaving it late as is the norm now, but I'm sure there will be a lot of movement in next week and half.
“With Fabio gone, I'll admit we're looking for a full-back or wing back, with a bit of versatility to cover positions. Fabs was ideal because could play right and left, so we will be looking.
“And with the changes to the loan rules we need to get our business done by September 1 and we need to be happy with what we've got going through until January.”
