Paul Trollope thrilled after securing first Cardiff City win and hails stand-in wing backs for assured displays

Jazz Richards was ruled out at the last minute giving Peltier and Harris a chance to impress

A relieved Paul Trollope hailed his two stand in wing-backs after securing the first competitive win of his Cardiff City tenure.

Jazz Richards was ruled out at the last minute as Lee Peltier stood in on the right flank, who was then replaced after an hour by Kadeem Harris as he himself picked up an injury.

The Head Coach was confident that neither were serious problems and was pleased to see he has good options in the role after Fabio's departure for Middlesbrough.

He said: "Kadeem has played in a full-back position in pre-season, we know what we brings, he's got pace and is direct, we were missing Jazz today, Lee Peltier had a really good 50/60 minutes at wing-back. He'd not done it in pre-season so it was a new thing for him but we thought he could do it and he did."

"Kadeem gave us a bit of pace and injection on that side which moving forward is a pleasing sign for us."

"Jazz had a calf problem and he took another whack in training yesterday. It was one we didn't want to risk with the games coming up and we're pleased with how it turned out. I decided not to change the shape and with Pelts coming into a new role, we think it worked well."

"Lee's ankle has been an ongoing problem, he took another couple of clumps on it so he'll be assessed in the next 24 hours but we're obviously hoping he'll be okay because he's shown his capabilities in a couple of positions."

Like I said on another topic, would be wrong to judge him on four games.

I'll give him ten to twelve games and then see what I think :ayatollah:
