New signing Fabio believes he has joined a team in Middlesbrough that are more than capable of beating the drop this season.

Having now got the opportunity to train with his new team mates, Fabio says Middlesbrough have a squad who can do more than just avoid relegation on their return to the Premier League. “I think [Boro] had a strong team last season already, and have bought some good players," Fabio told the Middlesbrough website. “My ambition is to play well help the team. We are strong enough to stay in the Premier League. “I am excited and I am happy now I have signed.
