He's still got to be cleared yet

He's been cleared he's having a retrial. I would still have him here same as Chesterfield has taken a chance

He hasn't "been cleared" yet. His original conviction was "quashed" given the 'new evidence' that appears to have come to light and which the judiciary considered could (not 100% would) have made a difference at the original trial

Still a way to go for Ched Evans before he is actually 'in the clear' and I think he is very lucky any team (Chesterfield in this case) have taken a chance on him prior to confirmation of his guilt or innocence

Just my personal opinion, of course, but he's not the answer to our striker problems at championship level :ayatollah:

SPOT ON :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Really pleased he's doing well for Chesterfield, and showing he is still a goalscorer.

I would like to see him in that current squad could be a goal machine :ayatollah: Not going to happen until after his retrial guarantee that

When is his retrial ? how long will it take so his mind will not be on football for the trail period, he his putting himself in the shop window and if found not guilty a clamor of clubs will come in for him especially if he keeps this scoring record up

for anyone saying that he is innocent, i suggest you read the full transcript of the appeal of the original trial: https://www.crimeline.info/uploads/case ... im2559.pdf

this was a complex case and one not capable of being grossly simplified as people on this thread have done. the reason for the original differing decisions becomes clearer from paragraph 19 onwards. i doubt you'll get that far though.

stating that macdonald was not guilty therefore evans must also not be neglects to consider the differing respective courses of communication between the victim and two accused, for instance.

it is, however, clear that quite a few people aren't even interested in finding out about the merits of the conviction, and are using this case to complain about wider societal issues like falsely crying rape.

Totally agree. How anyone can state he was 'stitched up' is beyond belief. His behaviour was disgusting and completely lacked any kind of respect for the fairer sex. If that amounts to rape we will have to see.

The only thing that would make me hand my season ticket back is if we signed this scum ball. I have no interest in letting my young daughter see this piece of thrash as a role model playing for CCFC.

I've read as much as you can read about his case and firmly believe he's innocent.

Certain he will be found innocent in October/November.
