Bristol City bubble bursting already

 They've been full of it lately and the fact they practically got a new ground, I think they really do fancy there chances this season. They should be three-nil down

1-0 defeat to Norwich is hardly bursting their bubble. Let's be honest Norwich away for us at the moment is a nightmare thought I'd easily say 4-0

Listened to the Sky coverage and up until the Norwich goal Bristol dominated. They have invested well this summer and I would be surprised if they didn't finish above us. A 1-0 defeat away to Norwich isn't exactly a bubble bursting.

Bristol have lost their last 2 games 1-0 against promotion favourites Newcastle and Norwich away. In both of those games sky reporters say that Bristol dominated large chunks of the game. There is no doubt that they have recruited well over the summer and I would be very surprised if they did not finish above us.

dont question that they may finish above us but to say they would hammer us is what i didnt understand and commented on, as there absalutely no basis yet to substantiate claim especially after their recent results regardless of who they were playing or how they played?

Not sure where we've "been full of it" - by actually signing some players this summer, perhaps? - many of us just hope for a midtable finish with few dramas, and definitely no relegation scares.

There is confidence here that we will manage this with the players we've now got, whereas a year ago we were woefully short of quality and experience for this league. We were an embarrassment up to about January last season.

Very few of us over here think top 6 is realistic this season, for two reasons. 1, our squad isn't strong enough and 2, the strength of the other top ten clubs. Naturally, there will be one or two gobby types talking ott nonsense, who hasn't got a few of them?

This season, we have room for 20k plus crowds and more interest from our casual/floating support than for about 35 years so we have a bit more budget to play with, and we have some other off-field stuff now that we have lacked before, as well as a stupidly wealthy owner prepared to back the coach with funds. So, in theory, we have more in place and going for us in this league than at any time any of us can remember, so that has resulted in optimism and confidence (or being "full of it" if you prefer).

Some of us that have felt optimistic and confident before, and are wary of it. But there is a determination and a drive from the owner down to make something happen this time. If it's ever going to happen for us - promotion back to the top - it's going to be in this period of improvement and progress off the field, or never at all. Probably.

We were okay v Norwich and Newcastle but clearly second best, and once a goal down, never really threatening enough. We'll be disappointed not to take more than one point of you lot this season, and looking from the outside think you are unlikely to match or better 7th place this season. Not sure if that's fair, or a bit too "full of it"?
