Wales assistant manager Osian Roberts hopes forward Hal Robson-Kanu finds new club "sooner rather than later" but that it must be the right move.
BBC
Tuesday 16th August 2016
Robson-Kanu, who scored twice as Wales reached the Euro 2016 semi-finals, is a free agent after leaving Reading at the end of 2015-16.
The 27-year-old remains without a club with the domestic season now underway.
"The important thing is that Hal gets the right move," Roberts told BBC Radio Wales Sport.
"There's no point rushing into something if he feels it's not the right one or if he's convinced it's not the right one for his career to progress.

question is if that good why did reading let him go? and why is he still waiting for a club to offer him a contract?

I think he may after the euros think he's better than he is and his wages demands are too high

I thought he turned down the contract they offered.
I hope he is training.

How can Trollope give him a chance!? Figures of close to 40k a week were being batted around for his next contract!

That's harsh I was at the euros and he did more than one good thing.

He chose to run down his contract at Reading as he felt they had prevented him from getting a move up previously.
My guess now would be that his agent thought they had the upper hand in negotiations after his name became prominent after the Euros and they may have put off some clubs with demands. IF Hull appoint Phelan I can see him signing for Hull, I cant see him getting another club in the Premiership right now to be honest.
He's not done enough at Club level to warrant a big move yet in my opinion.

We need someone who can get the ball to the forwards who then get a chance to actually shoot at goal!

Maybe because his wages are triple what we can afford?

Too much common sense there T1JMO

He's championship at best and only occasionally
He played well above his station in France
Squad player at best and certainly not good enough for the premier league
He has a couple of good matches and his agent thinks he's a world beater
Strange that there has been no rush of clubs to sign him
Lower his sights and his wage demands and maybe a championship or division one club may come for him

35 league goals since 2007 will fit in great

People forget Bothroyd was hardly prolific for any of the clubs he played at before coming to us.

Ok perhaps we should double/triple our wage structure and take a huge gamble that he can score goals at this level.
Just what we need.

Tan will have told Trollope to find freebies or loans. I hear Ameobi's available!

Robson-Kanu hasn't done a job at club level for a few years now. Like a number of other players in that Wales squad such as Richards, Gunter, and Hennessey he seems to perform far better for country than club. I'm not interested in him coming to us. I think he overrates himself and that's always a worrying mentality for a player to have in this division. It's probably contributed to him not doing much at this level.

Robson-Kanu to West Ham, after Ayew out for 4months. Twitter rumour

Just pointing out that because a player ain't prolific doesn't mean he will be the same at every club.

I personally think he is a championship player, his agent obviously been scouting his name around, £40 k a week, never worth it!
Mon Aug 22, 2016 10:38 am
There's obviously a reason the hitherto relatively unnoticed Hal Robson-Kanu hasn't found a club to date and it points towards people not being too fooled by a single (somewhat) 'lucky' goal scored in Euro 2016
I'e watched him several times fro Reading (usually against us) and he certainly has pace and gives defenders a torrid time, but I'm not so sure he is that player who 'makes the difference'
For the £40k pw his Agent is apparently asking (no one can be sure, mind) it is a massive gamble to take. Certainly wouldn't have him at the CCS on half of that because I think Kadeem Harris can do what Robson-Kanu does equally well and maybe better given a run in the team
