Wales songs

Mon Aug 15, 2016 6:23 am

The atmosphere was extremely poor again yesterday and there was little being done on the pitch to help generate one but we seem to be going through a real barren spell when it comes to songs that actually encourage and support the team.

Yesterday I heard

If you reached the semi final clap your hands
Wales
Iceland
2-1 to the Iceland
Always shit on the English side of the bridge
Same old English always cheating
England run from Russia
Don't take me Home
...and that bloody thunderclap thing.

Had to check a few times I was actually watching Cardiff.

We last reached a semi final against Palace in the League Cup but as we went on to the final I thought surely they can't be singing about that?

And surely Don't take me home should be sung when you're team is playing abroad, or maybe away from home but singing it when you're already at home?

Very strange.

This could go on for some time I fear, drum or no drum!

For all Ken Choo's rhetoric about a "new beginning, a renewed sense of unity, Cityasone, & improveing the match day experience", it feel more like our football club is slowly, but surly,, being driven firmly into the ground!
