Joe ralls

Do not rate him one bit. He is bland not creative and lacks drive. Tonight the ball would come to him and it would kill the smallest bit of momentum we had. He seemed happy to put in 50 percent all night although he was not the only one he was the one that caught my eye as the worst performing player of the night with noone and Zohore following close behind him. I know many people will say it was just a cup game but according to many Trollope prides himself on high energy pressing and high work rate football tonight we all saw the exact opposite it may not have been our strongest side but it definitely was not our worst there was some decent players out there on paper tonight but if your not willing put a good shift against a team like Bristol rovers then you should not be at the club at all !!!!

Thank God someone who thinks the same as me. So overrated. How people think he can do the job whitts does is ridiculous. I don't really know what he does.

In fairness he's a bit like mason as in he hasn't changed much the last couple of years doesn't seem to have progressed massively

He will never be a touch on Whitts all that ralls can do is pass it sideways and backwards Whitts should have been on after half time

Terrible game tonight and have to agree with original poster, I have never got this Ralls love in.
My midfield 3 would be whitts, immers, okeefe.

Whitts and emyr huws both better options oh an lex immers, 3 good midfielders for us there

Ralls was the only one who created anything tonight. Everything came through him.
Gunnar, O'Keefe and Noone were all useless.

Ralls linked well with John and that was about the only positive in a dire show.

Need the same down the other side and someone in the middle to pick up the loose balls.

I actually agree with Lawnmower. Other than Manga probably our best player tonight. Tried to go forward and was always looking for the ball. Our problem is sticking players like Noone upfront we need a player with pace to get behind the big hold up players which Zahore and Fred are. Pilkington can do it but how many goals he will get from it is another question

Ralls is a very decent player in my opinion who has plenty of energy around the pitch and usually looks to get on the front foot. Last night he was as poor as most of the rest.
However, the posters on here who think he's the next Whitts are miles out.
Whittingham has more skill and class than Ralls will ever have - when he was at his prime and also right now in his career.
Whitts will be back in against QPR without a doubt as he is still our best player.

I think the main problem in slowing things things down was Gunnarson and Morrison.

Gunnarson always has to kill the ball before passing and that just allows the opposition to set themselves up. That said the lack of movement from Zohore didn't help.

I haven't seen Grounongbe before and, to be fair, he did give us something more to aim for and him and Pilkington did look more of a threat, albeit that wouldn't be difficult

Let's hope that the Whitts, Immers, Pilkington combination gives us a bit more on Sunday :thumbright:

agree what a poor showing especially from the midfield.noone is beyond shocking league 2 at best.i like the look at the new striker i thought he showed dominance in the air and able to hold the ball up

i have to disagree i think ralls can be outstanding the only gripe i have was he doesnt look to play to many forward balls thats partly down to the mugs hes surrounded by tho, how many times did gunnar or okeefe break their midfield line?? how many times did noone drop off looking for space? (once) and how many times did we run in behind their defence? we looked really lethargic in possession, i do agree that whitts should have been on early second half, two yrs running weve been embarrassed by a lower league team, we must not like the cup anymore

I love the way our fans want youngsters given a chance and then have a go as soon as they do. How can people above say he hasn't improved the last few years is beyond me. For most of last season he was excellent. No he cant do all that whitts does but he is 22 and played 86 games for us compared to Whitts who is 31 and played 376 games for us, what do some people expect.

Of all the performances last night Ralls certainly wasn't one of the players who concerned me.
