I reckon just about. Around 17th with a bit of luck. Average crowds approx 11,000 to 12,000 on a good day (depending on away support of the Big clubs that visit us)

I think your right aslong as the world doesn't come to an end first
Thu Aug 11, 2016 12:07 pm
same was said last year and we were competitive,we will be competitive again this year, our squad is good again

What an idiotic post. There's no way we are ending up anywhere near relegation.
It's always baffled me why people revel in misery and pessimism.

Why is it an idiotic post?
The OP has asked a valid question and there is a possibility that we could get relegated - the club seems to be willing to sell anyone with a sale value and to date we have not seen any signings who have shown that they can improve the squad from last season.
So if the squad is no better or a little worse than last season, with a new inexperienced coach who has not managed at this level previously implementing a new system that most of the players are unfamiliar with, then there is a possibility we may get relegated.
I honestly don't think we'll be that bad but it's no more of an idiotic post than those who post about how we're going to get promoted this season.
Some have a half full glass and some have a half empty glass - doesn't mean either is right or wrong.
Some people won't accept a word of criticism against the club or anything they do.
That's idiotic too.

You Obviously wernt at Birmingham then ,we played well and were positive
Clean sheet and a point away from home and were much the better team could easily have won , there will also be a few more players coming in
We will be competitive and will be top half of the table
Thu Aug 11, 2016 12:51 pm
Yes and pushing for the playoffs
Thu Aug 11, 2016 1:06 pm
i dont think we will get relegated but i also dont think we will be near the playoffs the league is much stronger this yr and we are standing still once again so i expect us to finish between 10th-14th anything higher is a bonus,as for the ones thinking we could make the playoffs id rather we didnt as we are nowhere near ready to go up and would come back down in spectacular fashion

There is nothing wrong with this post it is a fair one!
I think the op is simply searching to see if others agree with his opinion. There is a fine line between negative, realistic and downright ridiculous thinking.
As stated saying "I reckon" we are going to be around 17th could be construde as just as ridiculous as saying you think we are going to get promoted. It is a matter of opinion and everyone should be entitled to an opinion so a healthy debate can be had as that is what a football forum should be all about.
A stupid opinion is....
We are definately going down this season!
Another stupid opinion is....
We are definately going to get promoted!
Nobody knows for sure that these things are going to happen even though either one could. As long as people dont state it as fact it is realistic as far I can see.
A realistic opinion is either end of and everything inbetween "I think" we are going down this season and "I think" we are going to win the league!".
This is Football so anything in that ball park could happen so therefore it is realistic based on this clubs state of affairs. Although they are both negative and positive opinions they are still realistic.
If you said you think Leicester are going to win the Premier League this time last year you would be laughed at.In my mind as long as you only think it can happen you could be a guru and should have the benefit of the doubt.
If you know it is going to happen you are a goon and in need of medication!
Any opinion is a fair one as long as you dont state it as a done deal (When it comes to Cardiff City). You never know how steep the ups and downs on this roller coaster are going to be and I would hope you never want to get off! Tan the ticketmaster will always keep you guessing but thats as far as anybody is ever going to get!
I do think it is more productive to be positive and believe that the ridiculous could happen though but thats just my opinion. You never know it just could!

We are a million miles from promotion and 2-3 million miles from relegation. We may sneak a play off place but I think 13th - 8th is a more realistic prospect this season. It's going to be another boring one.

Welcome to the championship Villa and Newcastle, early days I know, but of the three that came down, I think Norwich will go back up, but as for the other two, they need need two things to go back up
1 a better defense
2 someone to score goals
Thu Aug 11, 2016 3:58 pm
I expect us to finish mid table as our squad as become weaker and weaker over the past 2 seasons.
I don't think that it is a ridiculous post and as a few have mentioned the fans expecting promotion is asking too much. There is one thing being optimistic but some fans need to take a reality check. There are at least 8/9 clubs with a better squad than us.
Always want us to perform but just being realistic with a mid table forecast. The club seem intent on building a team of freebies and seem happy with just treading water in this Division. Very little ambition shown to date but hopefully this will change. Think many fans would like to see a quality signing or two (particularly a striker) to get more fans through the gates and improve the atmosphere.

Don't see what is idiotic about this post. No more idiotic than the posters who had us down for automatic promotion last season, or the posters who have us down for promotion this season. Despite what someone has said earlier, I don't think our squad is as good as it was last season, but the league is certainly stronger. I can't see us finishing as high as we did last time out, but I don't think we will be near the relegation battle either. Common sense says we will have an average sort of season, particularly as there won't be much money available to make any decent signings. I will stick to my prediction of mid table, probably around 12th.
Thu Aug 11, 2016 8:04 pm
I think we are a quality striker away from plays offs and a few injuries to a few players from a relegation battle. I think we will be mid table with a lot of 0-0 draws
Thu Aug 11, 2016 8:18 pm
I think 16th or I'm honest. We got lucky quite a bit last season, and I feel the league is much stronger where as we seemed to have weakened and will be punished by a few clubs. Also don't think we've seen the end of our players leaving either

Slades legacy lives on. No change, no chance. Yes we need a striker , have done for several seasons . What we really need is an owner who wants what we want . Give Trollope a chance but Tan rules the roost and he's not laying golden eggs !!
Thu Aug 11, 2016 10:39 pm
Somewhere between 8th and 12th for me

I am far from Slades biggest fan but he gave us a good platform for the next manager to build on, he steadied our fast sinking ship. It's up to Trollope to build on that. Slade is not to blame.

This guy is obsessed with slagging off slade! As you say slade did nothing wrong and left a solid foundation for next manager.

I don't think this should even be considered we are nowhere near a relegation outfit.

Agree, OGS fucked this club up far more than Slade yet Slade gets the abuse. Slade took us over when we were at our worst we've been for a decade and he turned it round well. He was never good enough to take us into the Play offs and his brand of football was poor but he was what we needed. Trollope needs to get a grip.
History will look back on RS tenure here as a success.
