Cardiff City will play Scunthorpe United away in the EFL Cup second round, if they beat Bristol Rovers

If Bristol Rovers win then they will play Chelsea away, and Bristol City will go to Scunthorpe.

SCUNTHORPE United have been drawn at home to either Cardiff City or Bristol City in the second round of the League Cup.

The Iron booked their place in the draw after beating Notts County 2-0 after extra time on Tuesday evening.

It will give the Iron a chance to test themselves against Championship opposition.

However, the draw has been complicated by the fact that Cardiff take on Bristol Rovers tomorrow.

If Cardiff beat the Pirates, then the Iron will face the Bluebirds, but if Rovers win then United will take on Bristol City.

Therefore Scunthorpe will not find out until tomorrow's ties have been completed.

That is the most confusing way to do a cup draw that I think I've ever seen...
