West Ham United have completed the signing of forward Andre Ayew from Swansea City for £20.5m.

Ayew, 26, signed for Swansea on a free transfer from Marseille in June 2015 and scored 12 goals in his first Premier League season.

The Ghana international won the BBC African player of the year in 2011 and becomes West Ham's record signing.

He is the club's sixth signing this summer, as they prepare for their first season playing in the London Stadium.

what i cant understand is for past 4 seasons they have bought and sold all their forwards why sell him for 20m then buy another for 15m? is it to do with their rotation of players and they get disalusioned with things!

Nothing to do with rotation but all about the money , he's rumoured to be doubling his wages and Swansea make a profit and get someone in cheaper and who is a striker rather than someone who's favoured position in on the wing and tends to wander and disrupt the balance of the side .

Cracking piece of business to be fair. 20m for a striker that only scored 12 goals last season is pretty good going, they badly need re invest that into the team though.

They pretty much are with the big signings of Llorente and Borja, the guy from Athletico.
You can bet they were in place before Ayew was allowed to leave as is a centre back to replace Williams.
When it comes to transfers they seem to get it pretty much spot on.

Blimey Allan, have a word with yourself! They don't sell players, players go. The pull of the big clubs will always be a draw for talented newcomers.

They bought for nothing (Ayew) and sold for 20m+
They sold for £20m+ and spent only £15m

What's so difficult to understand about that?

Mind you, they'll struggle to replace Ash W.

It's the way relatively smaller clubs work.
