For those of you that saw the game, how did he do?
Marks out of 10?
Headers won?
A threat?
Linked well with team mates?
Most importantly, do the Ayatollah?

Wasn't up to much
And missed from about a yard out

Probably a 4 or 5 out of 10.
No real threat from him to be honest. One decent run just before he was substituted which led to a free kick in a promising position. Won a few headers one of which set up Pilks for a good chance and missed an open goal where it was far more difficult to miss than score.
However, it was his first competitive game at this level, no doubt he's still getting used to his team mates and the playing style as well as living in a new country and dealing with a different culture so I'd say although he wasn't great on Saturday he showed some signs of promise and hopefully when he settles in he'll be more of a threat.
Not sure he's the 20 goal a season striker we need but much too early to make any real judgement on him.

Don't think he is the answer to our scoring problem. If we can get a decent 15 goal striker in, I think Fred will be on the bench quite a lot.

I dont give a crap about how well he played or if he missed a sitter. The burning question for me is did he do the ayatollah?
If he did all is forgiven!

Trollope replaced Freddy with Zohore on Saturday which may suggest that he's not too keen to be playing two big men upfront together.
If that's the case, and we were to sign a smaller, nimble and quick type of forward in the Fraizer Campbell mould, then I could see Fred still having a major role to play in a 3-5-2 set-up as using wing-backs to get crosses in relies on an aeriel presence in the box.
I think that Pilkington may be the one who's place is at risk and if we were to sign a more recognized striker I think it would be Pilks who may be replaced before Fred.
Pilks has many attributes but he's not a natural goalscorer and although he's done well in an unfamiliar role I'd prefer a player in that position with a proven track record if possible - not much to ask for I know!
