CARVALHAL EYES FOUR NEW PLAYERS
Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal wants at least four more signings before the end of the month.
The Owls started their Championship season with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, with Fernando Forestieri's 85th-minute strike proving decisive.
Afterwards, Carvalhal told Sky Sports that he is still looking for new additions before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
"We have a squad that is not complete, we have a team to start the competition, but we have some gaps," he said. "We need one more player minimum in midfield, we need a winger and left-back and we need a centre-back, so four players at minimum to complete the squad. It's easy to see where we have the gaps."

WEST BROM WANT IGHALO
West Brom are interested in signing Watford striker Odion Ighalo before the transfer window shuts, according to Sky sources.
The Baggies want to bring in a new striker before allowing Saido Berahino to leave the club and they tried to sign West Ham's Diafra Sakho last week.
Sakho was ready to join the West Midlands club butfailed a medical and the deal fell through, leaving West Brom to move on to other targets, of which Ighalo is one.

Hal Robson-Kanu - It is understood that he's close to signing for an unnamed Premier League club. Negotiations over personal terms are at an advanced stage and it is hoped he will sign before the start of the season. Robson-Kanu was all set for Hull City last month, that deal is definitely OFF.

Borja Baston - An agreement on a fee is moving closer, with Swansea expected to have to pay a club record £15m. Swansea are hopeful the Atletico Madrid forward will fly over for a medical at some point this week.
Saido Berahino - Offers from Stoke and Crystal Palace remain on the table but they won't be considered until West Brom find a replacement. Meaning there is the possibility Berahino will see out the final year of his contract at The Hawthorns.
Here are the three potential outcomes. Firstly, Berahino gets sold in this window. Secondly, he signs a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January, which means West Brom will receive nothing. Or, Berahino joins an English club next summer - and West Brom will be due a compensation fee.
Alexandre Lacazette - Talks continue between Arsenal and Lyon over a transfer fee, but an already difficult deal has been complicated further by a hip injury suffered by the Frenchman, which his manager described as worrying. Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has maintained the player will NOT be leaving the club

TRANSFER LATEST
So, where are we everything? Let's have a look at the state of play with some of the big transfer deals.
John Stones - Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was asked about Stones yesterday and he proceeded to say he's an Everton player not once... not twice... but THREE times. Everton's stance is unchanged - £50m is the asking price. No negotiation.
Ashley WIlliams - Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin was asked if Williams would be at the club this season - his reply: "I don't know the future, but right now he is training with us". Everton had a bid of £10m rejected last month and are expected to go back in with an improved offer.
Andre Ayew - A fee of £20m has been agreed with West Ham and we understand Ayew has been having a medical this weekend. However, it is thought Swansea will only finalise that deal once a replacement is found.

ALLEGRI QUIET ON POGBA
Manchester United might have confirmed Paul Pogba has been given permission to have a medical, but Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was not giving anything away when asked about the transfer after today’s friendly against West Ham.
"I spoke about Pogba the day before. We have just finished a match and I don't know much more,” he said. "We will see tomorrow (Monday) if he is still a Juventus player.
“There's no point in discussing replacements for Pogba because right now he's a Juventus player."
POGBA FEE £89M
Some more news now on Paul Pogba's upcoming move to Man Utd, with the fee expected be in the region of €105m or £89m.

JOSE DEFENDS POGBA FEE
Jose Mourinho has defended the reported £89m transfer fee Manchester United are set to pay for Paul Pogba but did admit football has become "crazy".
The Old Trafford club are on the brink of bringing the French midfielder back to Manchester for a world record fee after Juventus confirmed that they had allowed him to undertake a medical ahead of the proposed move.
Speaking after his side beat Leicester 2-1 to win the Community Shield at Wembley, Mourinho said: "I don't think Real Madrid were upset when they broke the record with Gareth Bale. I don't think it is a reason to be sad," he said. "It is a reason to be proud with the dimension of the club that can do that and can attract players of this dimension.
"If you ask me if I think it is a lot of money, I think football is crazy, the market has become crazy. What you think this season is crazy you realise three years later is not crazy anymore. I think there are players who cost £10m who are super expensive because they are players £400,000 or £500,000 or £1m so what is expensive and not expensive in football? I don't know anymore.
"I just know he is a big player that is going, for sure, to be important for a big club like Man United."

"It feels amazing to have joined Celtic. It's a massive club and I'm looking forward to it. I'm here now and I'm happy to be here," Sinclair said on the club's official website.

FORMER CITY AND SPURS STAR IN DEMAND
Valencia and Fiorentina are interested in former Manchester City and Spurs defender Vedran Corluka, reports Superdeporte.
Valencia are on the lookout for a new centre-back and they have turned their attention to Corluka, although former Mestalla favourite Raul Albiol remains their first-choice defensive target.
The La Liga club are not the only side keen on the Croatian though, as Fiorentina are also interested in securing his services.

It's expected to be a busy day in South Wales with the departures and arrivals lounge at Swansea City highly likely to see some action.
Borja Baston is close to sealing a club record £15m move to the Liberty Stadium, while Andre Ayew is expected to be unveiled as a West Ham player in a £20m-plus deal.
While those two situations are all but wrapped up, major doubt still surrounds the future of Swansea captain Ashley Williams.
The Wales skipper has been training with the club but played no part in Saturday's final pre-season match as the Swans' Euro 2016 stars were rested.
Everton are thought to be returning with an increased offer after their initial £10m bid was dramatically turned down at the last minute.
For Cardiff City, life is a little less exciting right now but a number of players are expected to leave the club soon, paving the way for potential new arrivals.

Middlesborough 'close in on Fabio Da Silva'
Fabio Da Silva
New Cardiff boss Paul Trollope has switched to a back five in pre-season and former Manchester United man Fabio has been a key part of it.
Now, though, the 26 could be on his way, with Boro said to be closing in on a move for the full-back, according to various reports.
Cardiff would be "hugely reluctant" to sell a crucial squad player but with a year left on his contract, the Bluebirds could be forced into action.
And there is talk of a £2m release clause in his contract at Cardiff City.
Ever since Fabio Da Silva scored a wonder goal against Boro last season, the Teeside club have monitored his progress, at this stage no actual offer has been put to the Welsh club.
We are told that Boro are hoping to snatch the former Manchester United player for around £1million,knowing that the Brazilian's is in his last year of his contract,it is believed Cardiff want £2million.
Cardiff manager Paul Trollope certainly did nothing to stem the speculation as he left Fabio out of Cardiff's squad for Saturday's stalemate at Birmingham.
Trollope stated “There has been some interest in Fabio which is why he was left out of the 18, and we'll look at that again next week as to how it plays out."
