Macheda/Alf yesterday

Sun Aug 07, 2016 11:36 am

In my opinion could very well have scored yesterday. Both have underperformed under solsjkaer and slade but under trollope with lenny and ryland morgans doin the training they could whip these into shape and get the best out of them imo. I might be wrong but both players have pedigree and in this new system could score the goals we need. If we cant sell them this window surely they must be used if we aint gonna bring another striker in? No sign of another striker signing at the moment but we desperately need one.

Vincent Tan almost always banishes players he wants rid of. Perhaps the best way to sell a player is allowing him to play and score some goals. And in fairness, nobody is yet to convince me the cheap foreign imports are better

Macheda might have snuck a goal ALF is just plain shit now.

For me it depends on their attitudes while around the place. ALF has made it clear he doesn't want to be here and shouldn't be anywhere near the first team for it, Macheda hasn't said he wants out as far as I know? But if he is happy here then we may aswell use him until someone comes in for him. Kenwynne played while it was clear he was looking to be sold/loaned out/released.

you have to remember if they do have problems they could unsettle the dressing room

Agree, both better than the options we currently have and should have at least been on the bench

In fairness my dog could have scored yesterday when presented with the same chance that Freddy had.

Completely agree with this posting,we have strikers on our books who are better than those who took the field on Saturday and I hope Trollope will involve them against Bristol Rovers

Wez! yes totally correct. Every comment made is wholeheartedly my own opinion, based on assumptions. Alf & Macheda have been Guerra-d imo! :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Well they haven't exactly been doing any good for the reserves have they ,and up against much weaker teams than they would come up against in the championship
How do I know becouse I was there watching them going through the motions with not a care in world
Oh and how many clubs are cueing up to sign them for free ffs

Agree with the op here it's weird that both strikers have done it at other clubs but he they seem to be smothered.
A bit of belief brings confidence and goals but city don't believe that n both of them .
Surely under new management and a new system if they are here give em a chance problem is Alf made it clear he wants out so who knows what's going on but he has pedigree but seems to have lost his way big time good man management could bring the best out of him .
As for Fred never really given a chance when he does score they are good goals never really gave him the ball to try and score I feel he never had a proper run in a system that suited him.
A real shame for both players and a waste I feel city have a big part to play in mis management of both players to big names flopped and told you can go just doesn't seem right to me .I reckon the only thing city care about is cost cutting not getting these players playing weather your good or not so good if your on big money buy buy and again it's all mis management by city and ultimately the people who run the club.
We seem in a position of taken 3 steps back and 1 forward at mo maybe they've learnt now but currently it's a bit messy down there .

A strange case of absence makes the heart grow founder

Both have had numerous chances and come up short. Also we have further cut backs as the parachute payments dwindle so the obvious targets would be those highly paid strikers.

Of course we may not get them off the pay roll before the window closes which means they will be in some kind of limbo until January.

That is some strange way may open up an opportunity should the club suffer injuries or complete failure with Fred and Zohore. Wilder things have happened before...
