Fao stayaways/negatives and moaners

Sat Aug 06, 2016 5:19 am

I'm sorry your not getting / feeling the way I am at this moment
But I just can't sleep with the excitement I'm feeling right now
I've tossed and turned all night ,got up to pee about five times ,and I'm now up wanting to tell the world how I feel right now becouse in 9and a half hours time I will be watching Cardiff city ,

Just like back in 1966 when I used to get the Barry train from penarth to grange town station ,
Running not walking down the steps shouting singing Cardiff Cardiff or city city ,the noise when you got to the bottom of those stairs was deafening.
Then the march down sloper road hundreds / thousands shoulder to shoulder or in my case shoulder to hip I was quite short in them days ,
On many occasion I would head straight for the train station behind the Bob bank as I had no money to pay on the gate ,
Hoping to get thrown up and over and Nick into the grange end .
In those days it was the real grange end wooden floor went right back (our very own Kop) there was a wall about 6ft high and 1 ft wide at the very back then it became corrugated sheeting ,as younger lads we were helped up onto the wall ,and we back heeled the sheeting to the tune of the songs being sung ,my favourite was the simple toshack ooh ooh tashack ooh ooh (my hero he was ).

I've always been a fan / supporter ever since , what ever division what ever standard of football good or bad or very bad
I've taken stick from all comers ,asking and questioning why I follow such a shit team or why bother with Cardiff city Thier crap ,or will never be any good etc etc , these people never knew any better they weren't real fans ,just watched football on the tv they did .

Which brings me onto why I'm posting this thread ,and the headline of this thread
I'm saddened by some of the reasons why people are staying away ,and in all honesty I don't get it ,for me no matter what anyone does to my club ,it is still my club ,and I will fight/ support it no matter what ,yes I hated the red (don't believe what annis has said ) I hated being relegated on many occasions ,I've come away from games hating our negative poor play ,but I get over it ,you can not effect the past ,but you can influence the future ,if we want a better football club ,then the club needs better/ more fans turning up ,giving them the support they need ,
Just think about the question what came first the chicken or the egg,
So maybe in Cardiff city terms if the fans came first now through the turnstiles and supported the club ,
Maybe the club would come first on and off the pitch?

Finally I don't believe tan wants rid of the club ,I honestly believe he wants us self efficient ,
Hence the writing off of over £60 million last year
He now realises our wage bill was out of control ,and still needs reducing ,however our squad is by no means that bad ,and I expect us to be hovering around the play offs once again this season
Our debt will be further reduced ,before we are able to aim for automatic promotion .
Just look at Newcastle last night with Thier brilliant expensive squad 1 nil losers at Fulham who incidentally sold Thier two main strikers .
It's not all doom and gloom in my house ,it's the same excitement today as it's always been since those first days in 1966
See you all in Birmingham can't wait

Top man great post.ive felt the same since1975 the only thing that kicked the guts out of me was the rebrand the club was dead to me during that period.when your club has a colour related nickname and then totally casts it aside just filled me with anger and resentment.

Good post, I also believe Tan is trying to get our club right in terms of finance and still putting out a team which is capable of beating any team in this league on the day, me I'm always looking forward to the next game.

just think when Tan does get us debt free maybe just maybe then we can expect better players coming into the club but very importantly the right players at the right price :ayatollah:

The only home game pre-season used to get me going, so had no prep, so still living off euro's just can't get into it yet.

Not even bothered at present about a sunday 3pm game as the first home game, maybe I'm in holiday mode and will wake up in september! :old:

Nope, it's deffo no pre-season home game - just not the same.

Although you could have said what you did without a 3 page essay, you made some valid points,up until the name calling,I would say that people like me who don't think everything in the garden is rosey are not negative moaners but realalists, who never the less look forward to the season just as much as anyone else
