Signings and Club Ambition

That's it. This team required some surgery in midfield and especially upfront, which in my opinion has not been undertaken. We also can't rule out some of our first team leaving if the right offers come in with rumours that Fabio is close to leaving.

I think Trollope has a real tough task ahead of him. Can we really expect more or less the same players to challenge for play-offs? I think the club are asking too much of the new Head Coach without any significant investment into the squad.

I also fear that some of the other squads in this league have the capability to leave us well behind, perhaps the only external equaliser in combating what we can consider more talented squads is the nature of the league, it is regarded to leave higher skilled players jaded by the sheer toughness of Championship football. However, the lack of investment again makes me question what it is we can achieve with the players we've got.

Are we expecting too much from the players and coach and perhaps the club is too? Again, top 6 is the call from the powers that be! Let's see, I blumin hope it plays out that way, but what gives them the right to expect what we failed at last term with the lack of investment into the playing squad?

My prediction. I went for a mid-table finish last season. Slade overachieved according to that, but that held no comfort in what was a pretty boring season in all honesty.

Lack of investment, strikers that have no form in this country to speak of, I am going for another mid-table finish.

i don't know why you're being so negative.

We have an owner who clearly loves the club dearly and is doing everything he can to get us promoted.

We've got men running the club on a day to day basis with years of football knowledge and experience who know exactly what we need to do to get promoted.

We've got a manager who is experienced at this level with a solid record of success at his previous clubs.

We've got virtually the same squad as we had last season but those same players will be much better than they were last season because they are playing in a different system which they are now completely comfortable with after three or four pre-season friendlies.

Honestly, some people are so negative on this forum it's unbelievable!

I tell you - we're going up as f*cking Champions!! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I guess we are trading like many of our rivals, but we still get branded top 6 contenders! I'm not feeling it. I can't do fake optimism if i'ts not in me. I would welcome a post that calms my fears about the games ahead  :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

No offence Thomas but the window hasn't closed yet, perhaps you might have a point when the window closes and we've done no business.

Until the window is closed I'll reserve judgement.
