Some truth in it because if hadn't sold him we would have been promoted and history would have been changed?

Indeed. I remember feeling absolutely gutted at the time and crying when I heard the news ( I was only eight at the time!).
It was if the belief in the team left with Toshack and I agree with you, history may indeed have changed.

You actually have a point here!
However, it doesnt change the fact that we have become poor fans in Wales. Geordies have done f**k all and take 6000 to Fulham tonight. Welsh sing when their winning, they only sing when their winning.

On the contrary..........us older fans have supported Cardiff through the worst times and have come out the other side. We'll be there whatever league we're playing in and whatever style of football we're playing because it's the club we support, NOT the success.
And I also think we'll do well under Trollope this season.

I don't think you have to be the older supporter to appreciate the worst times at Cardiff, the last couple of seasons, with Cardiff in Red and all the divisions it caused has been by far the worst and most un enjoyable period of my time supporting City over the last 40 years!
