cardiff city has become a mediocre club

nothing to excite the supporters anymore----mediocre signings ---yes we will listen to offers for our best players--no ambition to get promotion just cut costs even if we finish mid table.-----AND THEY WONDER WHY SEASON TICKETS ARE DOWN.

I just posted something about Cardiff City with the theme of mediocrity. You read my mind. It's not just me who is coming to terms with it. The club remains steadfastly ambitious publicly with it's top 6 agenda

Some truth in it because if hadn't sold him we would have been promoted and history would have been changed?

You actually have a point here!

However, it doesnt change the fact that we have become poor fans in Wales. Geordies have done f**k all and take 6000 to Fulham tonight. Welsh sing when their winning, they only sing when their winning.

Indeed. I remember feeling absolutely gutted at the time and crying when I heard the news ( I was only eight at the time!).
It was if the belief in the team left with Toshack and I agree with you, history may indeed have changed.

Reason say history changed because at time and for time afterwards we were always competitive in Europe and league so div 1 would have given us strength to go forwards instead slowly slipped back!

Comparing our fans to ncastle/Leeds us like chalk & cheese no comparison!

We are what we are and always have been in modern times, a mid sized league one or championship side, no point in moaning, if we manage to stay in the championship year after year, we will be doing well. We are not a big or biggish club I'm afraid :bluebird:

Some people think we are a bigger club than we actually are. We haven't become a mediocre club......we've always been a mediocre club.

It's only the resent success in the FA cup, League cup, play offs and Premier league that has been out of the ordinary. We are what we are, a Division 2/3 club. Any success in cups or league are a bonus and should always be taken as a bonus.

Where ever Cardiff City plays its football I will be there because success is not the reason I support the Bluebirds. It's in my blood. It's my club and I'll support them where they are in the conference or playing in the Champions league.

We've always been mediocre and we only got to the prem by being alien for 36 months instead of being mediocre. Rather be mediocre then alien!

Some of our so called older high profile fans would like to think that ... But I think Cardiff City will do well this season and the fans will respond... LeVe the negativity to those who don't attend.

On the contrary..........us older fans have supported Cardiff through the worst times and have come out the other side. We'll be there whatever league we're playing in and whatever style of football we're playing because it's the club we support, NOT the success.

And I also think we'll do well under Trollope this season.

For years one could only dream of being a mediocre championship club, we were awful fir most if the 80's and 90's. People just need to realise our fan base like football has changed forever. You can't just pop to the pub on a fri or sat meet mates and end up at ninian park anymore.....I don't think anyone would be bothered if the jacks were a league below us, but they are not so people expect more....

I don't think you have to be the older supporter to appreciate the worst times at Cardiff, the last couple of seasons, with Cardiff in Red and all the divisions it caused has been by far the worst and most un enjoyable period of my time supporting City over the last 40 years!

I was referring to the success on the pitch but I agree the rebrand was the worst period in Cardiff's history.

The club is going nowhere its only plan is to stay in championship and avoid relegation at all costs, obviously the club will be sold next season after the parachute money runs out. No Ambition!
