West Brom have announced that chairman Jeremy Peace has agreed to sell the club to a Chinese investment group.
The group is headed by Guochuan Lai, who is the controlling shareholder in Yunyi Guokai (Shanghai) Sports Development Limited.
Lai has told the club website: "I am excited and privileged to have the chance to become the new owner of this great club. My immediate priorities will be to maintain the club’s stable structure, respecting its well-run nature and its heritage. I have no intention of changing the club’s ethos."

Interesting. He's been their owner for a while and always kept them stable financially so I doubt he had to sell or was under pressure to sell.
Looking at the Premier League now, and even the Championship, there's not many "local businessmen" owning their clubs anymore. Nowhere near as many as there used to be.
