I dont know the exact figure but if we are recieving parachute payments then why are we still having to live with cutbacks ?
Most of ole's shite has been moved on so it all seems like a load of bollocks to me

wages simple answer and low crowds and lower income

We have to cut back as our wages were far too high 1st season back- we made a massive loss with £23m of parachute payments, last year they dropped to £16m and this year to £8m.
Some savings have been made, but with wages of something like £4m a season going on KD, Le Fondre and Macheda without them being 1st teamerd then we can't afford to bring in new players

We still have 12/14 players on Premieship wages/contracts when the parachute payments end we will have to tighten our belt accordingly in the hope we don't break the Financil Fair Play rules again.

I thought parachute payments where for 2 years....after the first year the payment is halved to slowly ease teams back to financial security.

No it's 4 years for us
Year 1 appx £23m
Year 2 £16m
Year 3 £8m
Year 4 £8m
They've changed again since then for newly relegated clubs now

I'm not 100% sure, but I was told that the 'parachute' payments (as well as season ticket sales and other income streams) is factored into the club's financial outlook each season, so that would mean the money coming in is effectively swallowed up before we get it. The club must then budget "within its means" according to FFP Rules and (like last season) will be heavily penalised if they are found to have breached
Without additional income, the budget for this year and next year (assuming season ticket sales stay at a similar level) will remain broadly the same (our final £8m coming from the Premier League system)

I think its safe to say the parachute payments staved off a huge mess for us(finacially)and we have just this season left to put our house in order before they stop.Or,on the other hand if we get pomoted this season we would then have the revenue streams to support prem wages and the like.

As mentioned above it should put things into perspective when you realise half of our parachute payments this season are being taking up by just the wages of Machada, LeFonda and dikachoi who arnt even fit for the bench....
Hope that clears things up for you
