Envious

Yes we as supporters must be hoping we manage to stay solvent and avoid running up huge debt but I can't help but feel that a lot of supporters will be casting envious glances at supporters of clubs who are investing in their teams a lot more than City are doing or will ever do as long as Tan owns our club

Not a Tan fan in the slightest.

All the gear, no idea

Yes investing millions but no garauntee of promotion! shame only 3 teams can go up what happens to the other teams who wasted millions on failed effort ?

At the end of the day its the tactics and the work ethic of the players that will get us promoted not spending millions on players.
Its easy to spend £10/20 million in this league but not so easy to get promoted from it :ayatollah:

Recent history tells us clubs can get promoted without spending milions !

Exactly, I think we'll be competitive and still spending within our means, I'm not expecting promotion this season, just some good football using some of our younger players mixed with experience.

After our last couple seasons watching Slades rubbish football, I'm just looking forward to some good football from a forward thinking young manager. It's the first time in a few years that I'm getting excited about the start of the season. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

I'm quietly optimistic for this season not sure if got sufficient players for automatic but can push for playoffs as don't think there is a great deal between teams in upper half of champ (except ncastle )

And what about those teams that have spent tens of millions that will fall flat on their faces?

We will be looking at them and saying, thank god we've learnt from our mistakes and doing it sustainably this time.

Bang on. This year is all about creating a style and identity and bringing through youth to build for the future.

Angelis wants his cake and he wants to eat it! He's one of few on here that obviously has the memory of a goldfish.

I've never known the OP be positive about anything. If Trollope loses a couple of games early on this guy will be at the head of the lynch mob.

I doubt anyone dislikes you, we don't know you. You just have an extremely negative view on most things city and it frustrates people who see the positive strides we are taking over the last year. I.e running sustainably, back to blue, giving youth a chance, engaging with fans more.

Its a slow process but I and others believe we're heading in the right direction.

He's not just negative, he's miserable and he's already forgotten we've just come out of a transfer embargo, for breaching the financial Fair Play rules!

He's also forgotten in making this statement "a lot of supporters will be casting envious glances at supporters of clubs who are investing in their teams a lot more than City are doing or will ever do as long as Tan owns our club" that although Tan was very naive in trusting OGS, that he did spend a ridiculous amount of money in backing him, but it's down to OGS's frivolous spending during his time in charge, that we now find ourselves in this period of austerity!

Added to the fact that Tan has invested over 120 million quid since he's been here.
